Leeds/Reading Festival Lineup

Who would have thought, posters on a football forum (most of which are tipping well past middle aged) don't like the line up of a festival which is aimed at 16-18 year olds?

Kids don't listen to guitar music, so it's little surprise that the majority of the artists aren't anymore.

I agree it's awful, but haway, I'm 50 and I've heard of, I think, 18 of them. Not that I like most of them, but surely at your age you've heard of more than 11?

Nope, just listed the ones I know. The ones with a star next to them are bands I've actually listened to

Fall Out Boy*
Wolf Alice
Annie Mac

Kendrick Lamar*
Panic at the Disco*
Sum 41*
Papa Roach*

Kings of Leon*
Courteeners*
Skepta
Wombats

Of the 11 I've heard of, I've never even listened to 4 of them. Of the ones I have listened to, they're all old bands, with the exception of Kendrick.

I can't believe this day has come - but what the fuck do they listen to?

100% this.

Should stick to festivals like Wireless.

My mate dragged me to Leeds last year and I am almost 40 years over the target audience. Dua Lipa is perfect for at least 60% of the audience. ie 16/17 year olds allowed to go after GCSEs etc.

I am going again this year because we had such a laugh. Most of the bands last year were utter shite.

We can now see a glimpse into @Frijj teenage years a sweaty emo bastard

I'm asking myself the same thing. The bands I recognise are mostly bands that have been around since I was a teenager. Kendrick Lamar is by far and away the biggest act they've got there mind.

2004 had some great acts as well

The Offspring
The White Stripes
The Distillers
Morrissey
Green Day
Franz Ferdinand
Dropkick Murphys
Thursday
The Von Bondies
Taking Back Sunday
Yeh, they had some very good bands in when I was there. But the festival itself was terrible.

I was ready to come on here and post how I find it funny that it seems to be the in thing to slag off a festival line up. But that is shocking! I loved Leeds though not been for 8 years or so.

I quite like a duo lipa song....

I can't tell if Leeds/Reading has become absolute dogshit, or whether I've gotten to the age where I just don't know what modern mainstream music is.

I've heard of in total, 11 bands there.
Just had the exact same thought, think it might be a bit of both
