Ireland latest.

Governments everywhere seemed to have been subliminally guided into thinking there needs to be a winter tightening of restrictions. That was without Omicron.
Hopefully the new variant will prove to be no more lethal than Delta and we can continue on our path as our numbers are still falling when they really should be rising.
However, i fear the clamour from Lockdown enthusiasts will be too much.

Hopefully common sense prevails. If being vaccinated means mild symptoms only, then we should be getting on with life. That’s what we got the vaccines for.

Hope your right mate, but Boris(the man who seems to be able to do what the fuck he likes and get away with it) always seems to bow to popular choice. And the popular choice, bizzarely, seems to be tighter restrictions.

Since he likes 3 word instructions, all he needs to announce is:

Masks - Vaccines - (Common) Sense

Would be good if the news outlets would try to report some f***ing positivity instead of the ultra-negative spins to get clicks/viewers.

Agreed mate. It's a sad indictment of where we are when headlines are dictated by pounds or worse still, by likes.

Clicks for advertising isn't it. So they'll take something someone has said and spin it the way they think it reads for one side of an argument. Then do the same next day for the other. All the while people who just want some truth and clarity don't know where to look.

If anyone had plans to visit Ireland please don't put them over this.
There's no tests from Ire-GB
This seems to suggest that tests are needed from GB? Only NI that doesn’t need them?

A lad in work was due to fly over on Friday with 10 mates. All early 20s. They’re planning on just knocking it on the head and going to Wakefield instead 😂 Not sure it has the same charm as Dublin.

If only that were true. Unfortunately it is not, the experts are calling for plan B and clown PM is silent.
All the experts or are you only listening to the ones who share your view by any chance? Don’t be hard on yourself tho, we all do it.
Some scientists have been calling for plan b for months, some since omicron and some are still saying wait and see. There are arguments that can be made either way but it’s not a straight forward decision for government, introducing any form of social distancing would kill a lot of businesses at this time of year.

It's going to destroy the Irish economy again.

It is true

The main problem in Ireland is the lack of ICU beds, they only have around 300 for the whole country & are frequently nearing full capacity.

I’d love to see how you can back that statement up mind…

Check WHO advice, check Patrick Vallance advice, check SAGE advice.

They all advise going in early and hard, meanwhile Johnson the clown does not even recommend WFH.

You are really trying to defend the indefensible here.
