BREAKING: Nightclubs in Ireland to close, table service only and social distancing in restaurants. 50% capacity at mass events. Three households max for indoor mixing and Covid passes extended

Hopefully not. 80% have been fully jabbed, 33% boostered.

I’m all for masks, taking precautions etc but I don’t think businesses should suffer any more than they have.

90% of adult population in Ireland is vaxxed and they revert to these measures.

Shows that vaccines aren’t effective at reducing the spread.

Or they are being overly cautious

This is my thought. The initial concern was health services being overwhelmed.. if there’s evidence that the symptoms are mild if vaccinated, then surely there’s no need for more “lockdown” type restrictions. Masks, vaccinations and common sense.

I don’t think there’s much chance they’d be shutting down huge parts of their economy to just be cautious.

I’d imagine the data they have access to indicates we are in for a pretty tough winter unfortunately.

Been obvious for a while unfortunately that they're nowhere near as effective at reducing the spread as they thought/hoped it would be.

There has been table service since March 2020.
I was in a pub 6 mile from centre of Dublin kast weekend.
Needed to show proof of double vac.
