did we not agree yesterday they have three good batsman and the rest are shite
True; but it's not like Tahir has turned this game on its head.

All of the South African bowlers have had the NZ batsmen tied up. Both Taylor and Ryder got themselves out by heaving Tahir into the legside. Nothing to do with Tahir's genius.

if you say so.

Kiwis were bulidng a platform and were going at 4.5 an over with 8 wickets inhand entering the last 20 overs until Tahir struck and got their two best batsman out

He's bowled well; there's no denying that, but without the pressure being created at the other end by the likes of Botha and Steyn the NZ batsmen wouldn't have had to play those shots against him.

If he does it against Sri Lanka in the semi-final and then India/Pakistan in the final then there may be some credit to the tag of 'best spinner in the world' ;)

Maybe over a small period of the game - say 5 overs - but nowhere near that until the end. They were sub-4 and over at the 40 over mark!

Bowled well today, never looking threatening until NZ tried to up the tempo, but kept it tight at the right times and got his reward.

if you wanna split hairs, as soon as Taylor was out they collapsed

Not really, they lost wickets trying to play big shots but the run rate was upped significantly when Taylor went. Which is what was required.

Tahir broke a 100 plus partnership from 130 for 2 they eeked out 91 runs in the last 17 overs for the loss of another 6 wickets.

I would suggest Taylor and Ryder batted for a score of around 250-260 with the aim of one of them being there at the end until Tahir got both of them

Class bowler

That's what I said, going along at under 4, then 5 from then in.

I would suggest you're not watching then. Taylor and Ryder never looked in and scratched around as best they could, when they tried to up the rate wickets started to go. 236 is par on this track.

Tahir bowled pretty well, no more, no less.
