Geertruida

Sign him for the agreed price and then Liverpool can have him for 50m, seems fair to me
I thought there was only an option to buy not obligation.

I can understand the lad being pissed off with a WC year aswell. In reality he should of had more gametime.

agree but people will still spin it positively even if they aren't happy about it.

He clearly wants out and we will suffer. Its not ideal like
Not ideal at all, but if they want him, it'll happen, let's get it done quickly and get a replacement in.

Let's face it no one had heard of him until 5 months ago, I trust the club have others lined up

He's not moving because he didn't get a game last week. He's moving because Liverpool is a much better move than Sunderland.

We can trigger the clause today and he'll still want to move to Liverpool.

The club haven't dropped anything, just one of those things. If Frimpong and Bradley weren't injured, it wouldn't be happening.

And then we'd get an instant profit. Which would at least be good for us

The player is loaned to us for the season
We have an option to buy permanently.
We hold the cards.
He will go if the deal works for us.
Accept fact instead of constantly looking for a negative spin on f***ing everything

Will you still be adamant its positive if we cancel his loan and he goes on loan to liverpool?

Bizarre as fuck. Just make it mandatory. Then sell. Not sure how it works would the player have to agree ?
Could be like the Tammy Abraham situation, signed for Besiktas who sold him to Villa a day after.

Nightmare if we end up with him and Neil gone, along with Xhaka injury

He’s our player until the end of the season, just as Guiu was or certainly January in his case. I know it’s good to have a positive relationship with clubs but we seem to be the one losing out in these instances.

We didnt lose out in that like. We god paid for not having him and spent it (and a little more) on Brobbey

Looks like Liverpool will have to pay us in order to cancel the loan, and then pay Leipzig to loan him.

That probably works for all parties. We get some cash for a player than wasn’t even ours (same happened with Guiu), Liverpool get their loanee, Leipzig get their player back at the end of the season and if he performs at Liverpool he’ll be worth a fair whack.

From LG & Leipzig POV, you can understand it. The defending champions want you and you’re guaranteed to start due to injuries, but you’re not playing for a newly promoted team in the bottom half. It makes sense.

All of this is contingent on us signing an adequate replacement though.
