I thought there was only an option to buy not obligation.

I can understand the lad being pissed off with a WC year aswell. In reality he should of had more gametime.

Not ideal at all, but if they want him, it'll happen, let's get it done quickly and get a replacement in.

Let's face it no one had heard of him until 5 months ago, I trust the club have others lined up

We didnt lose out in that like. We god paid for not having him and spent it (and a little more) on Brobbey
 
Looks like Liverpool will have to pay us in order to cancel the loan, and then pay Leipzig to loan him.

That probably works for all parties. We get some cash for a player than wasn’t even ours (same happened with Guiu), Liverpool get their loanee, Leipzig get their player back at the end of the season and if he performs at Liverpool he’ll be worth a fair whack.

From LG & Leipzig POV, you can understand it. The defending champions want you and you’re guaranteed to start due to injuries, but you’re not playing for a newly promoted team in the bottom half. It makes sense.

All of this is contingent on us signing an adequate replacement though.
