most of the footballers I know only want to do one thing.... play football. The money side of it, in most cases, has been secondary but nice if you can get it.

He's not up there with the all time greats but you can't argue with his record over the last 7/8 years.
Almost 1 in 2 for Madrid and he was brilliant his last 2/3 seasons with Spurs.
Would get into most teams in the prem.

not now he's off to China for £1million p/week. Doesn't strike me as the type to drop 600k/700k from his wages for the sake of playing in a slightly more respectable league and Inter won't match the wages he's going to be on from China.

He’s got everything to be one of the greats but now looks like he can’t be arsed anymore at 30 ??
I know he’s done everything but the difference between Ronaldo and messi etc is that they’ve got the will and want to maintain and do even better than they have previously.

Although Ronaldo (4 years older, and with honours that dwarf Bale's) is still testing himself at a top European club, in his 4th European league and country.
