Dogs of The SMB.

Ted has been poorly on and off the last few weeks.
Had us up early, pawing the door for attention (Can’t do sickness on his own).
Out the back eating bamboo (what could possibly go wrong).

Stomach gurgling and all sorts :)

Finally found out what the problem has been. All this rain we’ve had, he likes to drink out of puddles, often in fields.
Standing water no doubt has bacteria, chemicals etc in it.

Stopped him the last few days and hopefully all ok and not being woken up.
Notwithstanding this Morning walked through the floods.

Any other dog owners with a dog that likes to drink out of puddles hope this helps.

Ted is a tinker. Pleased he’s feeling better.

A couple of years ago, our 14 year old westie took a turn.

Bad stomach.

He was sick enough to be taken to the vets.

He spent a night on a drip and was a little better in the morning.

Took him and he managed to shoot projectile diarrhea about 2 metres across the living room.

It was pretty grim.

He was a lot better after that mind.

Coffee getting radgy so first break in the rain out we go, first chucking the ball down Sandhill...

(she's sulking cos I'd gone ten seconds without throwing the ball)
and a little bit of facebooky nonsense she did today when we got in from the walk (she found the ball near Tunstall and did what she always does, its the most important object in the universe until she gets it home and promptly destroys it)...

he's a star mate, really lovely lad. odd as fuck mind which most whippets seem to be but the most loving dog I've ever come across.
Used to take mine out in the country with a whippet and a greyhound. The greyhound was always a bit aloof, maybe intimidated by the size of mine, but the whippet was great. They used to run and chase each other for ages, the whippet being more agile, mine being a bit faster, it was fun to watch. The greyhound would dip in snd out.
There is nothing better than seeing dogs run for fun.
