There’s a difference between ‘fans’ and ‘supporters.’ Fans are people who are defined by “liking” a club, they don’t necessarily go to games and/or pay to watch, anyway. Whereas ‘supporters’ take it further and “support” the club financially. I’m a ‘supporter,’ I have a season ticket and have had a season ticket for years. I spend money to go and watch and ‘support’ the team when they play away from home etc. And, I’ve had more than enough of ‘supporting’ this shit, for this season. I also couldn’t care less what your opinion is.

There is no difference between a fan and supporter whatsoever. You're just trying to justify your extreme commitment to a specific form of entertainment, however, the hard truth is that you are no more special than the person who sits at home watching football on the telly every weekend (their subscription cost won't be much different to your ticket money anyhow)

What's next? Is your dad bigger than my dad?

Same against Chelsea and Everton under Big Sam. But other times we’ve crumbled at the first missed pass and groan.

Yeah- listen klopp said as much today- they know if they get the crowd hyped it will wilt the opposition- you even saw messi and co look done in last night- you cant think straight and make mistakes if that sound is alien to you

You're a shit fan in my opinion.

I understand that some people can't make it or can't afford it but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.
I am not bothered about anyone else but me. If others dont want to go,thats fine. You are very arrogant, your parents should take away your phone and stop your pocket money you silly little boy.

To be fair, all of the criticism that i have read is directed at those who choose not to attend and not those that cant afford to. Really sad for those that cant afford to go and yes, £20 is a lot of money to many people. On this occasion the club's hands were tied.
I'm not having a go at the club
There are plenty of 'it's only £20' type of posts though mate.

Aye- that was down to less in stadium-you ate filed under the thick as mince poster- mind you aren’t alone in there

No, just arguably our best performance (against the 2nd best team in the league) of the season came with the 2nd lowest attendance. Our biggest attendance provided a 1 nil win over the worst team in the league and I ly came as a result of a decision that was so bad the ref actually came out after the game to apologise.

Luton's highest attendance this season was 10k. They won the league. I'm sure we can win one game with 28k like we had at Barnsley that night.

So you're making this refereeing howler up then to suit an agenda. Thanks for clearing that up.

It looked in live so don't blame a jokey twitter account making fun of it. Doesn't mean it went in. It didn't.

The referee came out after the game and apologised for f***ing up, man. It was that bad.

What agenda do I have out of interest?

My own thought process on this is simple.. I had a season ticket this season with the bairn.. Supported the lads in League one hoping they would be promoted automatically.. We fell short it doesn't mean that's the end.. I bought our tickets on Sunday and will be there supporting the lads in what will be their biggest game of the season now.. I couldn't support them all season then say " I'm not going to the playoffs" The lads need every single one of us to get behind them for these crucial games.. But even if we don't go up this season I will have supported them the whole season because I'm Sunderland till I die!!
We got our club and identity back this season thanks to new ownership and they deserve my backing... This is our club we shouldn't just support it when we feel like it.. Are we the best fans in the land?? Let's prove we are.
Gerrin!

Fucker is gonna be on national TV, with thousands of empty seats for the biggest match of the season.....How to show the rest of the country and potential investors that Sunderland are back eh? Social media getting switched off for sure, we are rightly going to be in for a hammering off the Mags.

Get to the match and help get us out of the division then, that way you can watch better football next season.
Not really the way it works unfortunately or we wouldnt be in the playoffs .Nice sentiment though

I think its ironic, after Pompey moaned about their ticket allocation, they are struggling to sell the tickets that they have been allocated! Just put 9 in my 'basket' on the Portsmout ticket line, which it accepted!
p.s. I doont want any sensible responses about how far Portsmouth is from Sunderland and the timing of the kick-off ;)

Its not nonsense, look at their crowds in the Championship despite a shite start. Ours went through the floor, theirs didnt. Tbf we are talking about getting around 50% of capacity, do you reckon they would? Seems to me that anybody arguing we have the best fans in the North East is now just spouting out of their arses, if the numbers end up being a shit as it seems they might that argument is well and truly over.
first game in the Championship under Hughton they only had 36,000 there man. Fans stuck around for Benitez and to see them go up as Champions. Imagine them under Chris Hughton, finishing bottom of the 2nd tier when only 36,000 showed for the opener.. they’d problies end up with an average lower than what we just had in the f***ing third division man

What are the reasons?
Tickets too expensive.
It’s live on TV.
People are fed up with recent results.
Saving pennies for a potential Wembley trip.
Poor PR by the club.

All I would add is we need a big crowd.
We need that 12th Man.
It’s our last home game of the season.
Let’s show the rest of the country what great fans we are.
Go and get your tickets now and maybe witness something similar to what the Liverpool fans witnessed last night!!!

Ha way the lads

Not silly at all.
Those choosing not to go and have spat their dummies out just because they're disappointed we didn't make the top 2 are pathetic imho.
I'm as disappointed as anyone that we let promotion slip but I will be there and cudnt countenance not being there in the teams hour(and a half) of need.
