Thread to keep tabs on goings on elsewhere - so it doesn’t get lost in our match thread.

We were the only county to opt for the toss in the Championship, all home teams are batting but Derbyshire because they won the toss.

Sussex the first team to be dismissed. 173 at home to Leicestershire.

Markram made 63 for Hampfrica, Vince 40.

Hameed on course for a century, albeit against students.

Worcestershire are 158-8 against Cambridge students - recovered somewhat from 40-6 and 93-7.

Hopefully this helps boost Hameed.
 
It seems like Joe Clarke, Malan, Sam Northeast are the first to put their hands up in emphatic style. No openers though. Hameed and Stoneman scored big against university bowling and the likes of Gubbins, Robson, Vince, Browne didn't do anything spectacular.

Mitchell has more tons than anyone else since the start of 2017.

Fair enough should be talked up and got a few hundreds last year in Div 1. I doubt they will go for someone against Australia who is facing D2 bowlers this year though.

Division 2 bowlers like...………. Mark Wood, Joffra Archer, Toby Roland Jones, Steven Finn, James Anderson, Graham Onions, Mohammed Abbas, Mir Hamza, David Wiese, Tom Bailey etc, etc !

Poor reply really. You get some top bowlers in Division 2 cricket what you don't get as any where near as strong a collective attack playing against you every week. Anderson, TRJ, Wood, Archer will miss far more games than they play I would imagine.Then you always have a nice couple of games against Glamorgan to boost your average as Bell did last year.
