Bellingham

Lee Clark made 19 first team appearances scoring twice at 18.

Stefan Schwartz at 18 made 10 appearances, no goals for Malmo.

Maybe they learned their trade and how to utilise their skill set after 18 years of age?

Would think that’s quite the norm.

Not on about them at eighteen though, jsuust saying how ability makes up for lack of pace

Ah i dont mind Dan Neil, do you think Hemir is good like? I long for the days if Clarke, Pritchard, Roberts and Stewart, proper footballers

Dan Neil was largely written off when he broke into the side as a regular. Now he’s by far our most accomplished centre midfielder. That’s what time does. You get that right?

Weird four to mention! Clarke and Roberts are still at the club, Pritchard refused to play and Stewart hasn’t licked a ball all season.

And 3 came to the club after losing their way and having no recent form. The other was a lanky winger cum striker who cost £400,000 and spent 11 weeks out with a hamstring injury before playing a minute for the club.

And all four needed time to find their legs and become the player you long for!

Hemir has shown nothing btw.

The point being that Jobe at 18 has put up better numbers than both of those mention in a post.

I’m not saying he’ll be better than either but he’s done more than enough to show he has the potential to be a player and an asset for us !

He does have potential tbf but he's no where near ready for first team football on a weekly basis.

It's all well and good letting him play and learn, often by being anonymous or poor all game, it probably will help him long term but unlikely to help us.

I think we've though if we can replicate his brother's form at Birmingham we can maybes get €25 million for him as well. His stats are similar tbf sockets hope scouts haven't been watching the games and just looking at the data like we do and buy him on his name value.

We’ve sacrificed our whole season to get him in the shop window

Pretty much.

Tbf we've fucked this season and with Clark likely off if we get offered ten million I'd take it (not sure anyone will offer but the market is mental and he's likely to get extra chances just based on his name), 15+ for Clarke and then try and rebuild the team cause it's f***ing rank.

That is of course if they reinvest the money which I have doubts they will.

Have we? I think we’ve had little options in midfield and he’s been pressed as a No9 cos the selection of supposed strikers haven’t done anything.

I think the lad as an individual has done ok.

Dodds & Co haven’t helped him and even with these rumoured minutes clause the lad needs more help. But a few of our players do.

And that falls at the feet of others more than the lad himself.

I believe we have sacrificed the season to give him minutes, there’s been times when Bellingham has been knackered and needed to come off and times he’s been poor and should have been subbed, but never happened or maybe late on in games

I don’t know if I’d say we’ve sacrificed our season but I understand your point.

And yes he has needed more games coming off the bench and the occasional watching brief too as far as I’m concerned.

I maintain my original point however that the lad isn’t shit and has good potential!

Fair enough you’re more than entitled to your opinion, somewhere on this thread I mentioned i’d love to be proven wrong and for him to fulfill his potential here but i just dont see it unfortunately

The thing I would say about jobe is he doesn’t hide. He always tries to get on it and make an option. Just overplayed. I do think he will turn into a half decent player in a few year

Agree like his brother you can tell they were raised right by their parents they don't hide or pass the buck. Two good lads their parents should be commended on raising right.

Yeah defo. Can tell he comes from good stock.
Jude is pretty much the biggest player in the world now especially with kids they adore him yet he spends large part of his winter break in Sunderland with his parents and brother. His head could've absolutely gone with all the attention money and fame but because of his upbringing it feels like he hasn't even started yet.
