Any Other School Staff Going On Strike?

No Windows ?
Yes. But without proper ventilation air becomes stale and how many schools have air-conditioning units? Not to mention having kids sat in freezing conditions all day isn't ideal for their health or concentration either.

Hope the teachers that feel it is "too unsafe" to attend school don't expect any supermarket workers to attend their place of work and are quite happy eating what's in the house for the next fortnight. Wouldn't be like a teacher to be hypocritical now would it?
If a supermarket worker doesn't feel safe going into their place of work they have exactly the same rights as a teacher not to go in.

Seems some schools are opening some are not. I’m talking primary schools in Hartlepool. Forgive me for thinking that if these teachers were not getting full wages a lot would not be so keen to down tools.
It’s not as if there has been an abundance of teachers getting the virus.

 there's not an abundance of teachers getting the virus? I work in a small school relatively speaking and we've had countless members of staff off after contracting the virus. Why would you make an assumption like that?

Nobody will be downing tools either, education doesn't stop now when the actual school site closes.

They can sanitise their hands between serves. A primary school teacher can't cycle the classroom air between lessons.
The air in a supermarket is constantly recirculated and the filters don't get rid of the virus. Supermarket air is a pretty dangerous thing.

I don't think zero hour contracts give you any rights like this tbf
How many supermarket workers are on a zero hours contract in the UK At present? My guess it isn't all of them. It's the HSE that provides the legislation. Supermarkets should be COVID secure environments for staff and public. If they aren't then they're breaking the law.

ah well then. Great news. Let's crack on. 40 people in a small room isn't an issue provided the adult in the room wears a piece of cloth across their nose and mouth.
Which will not prevent them contracting Covid.

Why should they be prioritised over supermarket workers?

Teachers wear zero PPE, supermarket workers do.

Edit: in some schools the teachers don't wear any PPE and in some other schools they don't wear it when teaching the group but do in smaller groups.
