Yes. But without proper ventilation air becomes stale and how many schools have air-conditioning units? Not to mention having kids sat in freezing conditions all day isn't ideal for their health or concentration either.

If a supermarket worker doesn't feel safe going into their place of work they have exactly the same rights as a teacher not to go in.

there's not an abundance of teachers getting the virus? I work in a small school relatively speaking and we've had countless members of staff off after contracting the virus. Why would you make an assumption like that?
The air in a supermarket is constantly recirculated and the filters don't get rid of the virus. Supermarket air is a pretty dangerous thing.

How many supermarket workers are on a zero hours contract in the UK At present? My guess it isn't all of them. It's the HSE that provides the legislation. Supermarkets should be COVID secure environments for staff and public. If they aren't then they're breaking the law.
