Slavadoran and I can't be chewed, two jokes for the price of one.Was it not an El Slavadoran? If you don't get the joke I can't be chewed.....
Wasn't very good for us, or anyone really, but he hardly deserved being bitten by an El Salvadoran tonight.
Would do a cracking job in the Champo. Let him be the big fish in a smaller pond
Yep, he was a striker low on confidence playing in a shite team. Said at the time I don't think we played to his "strengths" (cue he hasn't got any comments) and that pretty much no striker would have scored regularly in Poyet's system.Yes he was shite but had a cracking attitude and appeared to care about the team, and seemed upset with his performances.
As has been mentioned we've had and still do have a lot worse players
You're in America mate?
. The only time his shite touch worked to our advantage'Member his Borini 'assist'?
Oh. You've never mentioned itYes live here
. The best description of that was his resemblance of a pigmy hippo doing slow motion stepoversThat Fulham penalty of his was the funniest thing that I have seen in over 50 years of following the Lads. He bamboozled two defenders with sheer footballing ineptitude and would have missed the net if had been allowed to shoot.
I was standing next to a group of Dutch lads who before the game had asked me (and laughed) if it was "THE" Jozy Altidore on the team sheet and they pissed themselves every time he touched the ball or at least tried to. Where that lad got the idea that he was a footballer God knows - still Clubs paid him top whack.
To me it was his "finest hour" with Sunderland nee wonder they put him on a cornflake packet when he got home .
I think he positional sense was ok.
In fact we've had strikers far worse than JA
Oh. You've never mentioned it
Why bring Vaughn into the conversation? He has no touch, no positional sense, not good in the air and doesn't know where the goal is but hey he tries a lot...... He is a terrible footballer.
Not sure about this mind.Yes he was shite but had a cracking attitude and appeared to care about the team, and seemed upset with his performances.

One of the things I was told poyet was absolutely overjoyed with about the Defoe swap was that it got rid of altidore. He was a miserable presence in the dressing room and just seemed to sap the life out of it when he was there. Yes that's his lack of confidence but they couldn't go on with it. Apparently he just used to mope. Used to bring everyone down
That's not a bad attitude in the arse hole sense, but he wasn't a great team mate to have round the club.
