Interesting read.

Many thanks for posting that, it was a very interesting read.

I particularly liked this bit.

"So, we’re gonna be ferocious, brutal, and tough for Sunderland, because we believe that it’s worth fighting for. And you’ve got to fight! This isn’t going to be a soft touch. Sometimes people will find Stewart and me abrasive, I can’t say otherwise, that is gonna happen, but we’re gonna be abrasive on behalf of Sunderland Association Football Club. And the people who are gonna feel the force of that abrasion, 98% of the time it will be agents, other clubs, people taking the piss. Occasionally we’ll get it wrong and it’ll be someone inside the club, but we’ll find them afterwards and make up, it’ll be fine."

I think most people are lapping up the rest of the article (what do you think of it by the way?) and other stuff they’ve said and done.

That’s the one bit that people have been slightly critical of so would suggest we’re not lapping up that particular part, certainly not in isolation.

Didn't read the article, but looking forward to the criticism of this obviously see-through horseshit.

Strange that some of the Oxford fans seem unsure about Methven. Not too sure what the issue was there but from everything I've seen and heard of him since coming to SAFC he seems very impressive. Obviously we need it backed up by results on the pitch in time but he's started as well as we could hope.

Also love how the two of them never thought they'd end up owning a club this big. I was thinking the other day that they must just walk onto the SoL pitch and think "fuck me, we own this!". Massive challenge for them but at least we know they're driven, determined to make a success of it and will be open with the fans even if things go badly at any stage. The timing of our drop into league one has worked out very well for them, and we desperately needed owners with access to funds but who also appreciate the need to genuinely reconnect with the fans and give us a reason to believe again. Don't believe in fate, and in true SAFC fashion it might all go to shit, but I think this is going to be a pretty exciting ride

Really glad they were at the Wolves game, a nice little taste of what's possible.

Good interview. Hopefully it’ll be the start of a culture shift at the club.

I like the aggression being shown. Especially about poaching other teams young players. We have been far to soft for far to long.

Asoro for example (or his agent) - if you want to go, bugger off. But you won’t develop in a way you can develop at Sunderland!
