ALS Methven Interview

Strange that some of the Oxford fans seem unsure about Methven. Not too sure what the issue was there but from everything I've seen and heard of him since coming to SAFC he seems very impressive. Obviously we need it backed up by results on the pitch in time but he's started as well as we could hope.

Also love how the two of them never thought they'd end up owning a club this big. I was thinking the other day that they must just walk onto the SoL pitch and think "fuck me, we own this!". Massive challenge for them but at least we know they're driven, determined to make a success of it and will be open with the fans even if things go badly at any stage. The timing of our drop into league one has worked out very well for them, and we desperately needed owners with access to funds but who also appreciate the need to genuinely reconnect with the fans and give us a reason to believe again. Don't believe in fate, and in true SAFC fashion it might all go to shit, but I think this is going to be a pretty exciting ride

I can't get ALS up, dunno why, is it too long to cut and paste ?
Forget that I'll get it on my phone.

He’s got me. The purple trousered bastards got me. Fuck. Shit. Bollocks. No no no.

Some land development thing. Water Farm or summit.

Great read! Thanks.

"In some ways, me being up here was part of the DD. I was able to make an initial diagnosis on the club itself, as an outsider. I diagnosed it to be a sick club, but not terminally ill."

I'd love to know more about what bits he considered were sick.

I know he's a PR king but it's hard not to like Charlie, he's been spot on with everything he's said this week and has clearly done a lot of research on the problems at the club. He's a breath of fresh air.
I like the fact that he’s obviously been up here for a canny period of time, he will have learnt a lot about the club, the area and the fans during that time because nobody, outside the club, would have had a clue who he was.

So 8th they've done the Roles Rapport podcast gone on the piss with ALS and Ross is doing an interview with wise men say. You can tell Charlie is a PR guru its a planned effort to get the fanzines onside.

I think it's fairly easily to see how we'd think he's a complete tosser if things went sour again with the club. He's an arrogant man who takes no shit, he's always going to rub people up the wrong way.
