They're rattling the cages, clearing out the shite from top to bottom. It's f***ing class. Hope to god this works out. Haway the Methven and Donald.

:cool::cool::cool:

So it’s always been a club that I’ve been somewhat fond of from an early age — for some reason I’ve always had an antipathy towards Newcastle. I mean that wasn’t a determining factor in this, but it does mean I’ve always had a slight soft spot for Sunderland because I’ve always found Newcastle to be a rather arrogant club.

It was suggested on Newcastle Online that it would only be a matter of time til one of them posted something like this, and there it is.

PR man pandering to his audience and you lot are lapping it up.

f***ing hell man, have some dignity. :lol::lol::lol:

Strange that some of the Oxford fans seem unsure about Methven. Not too sure what the issue was there but from everything I've seen and heard of him since coming to SAFC he seems very impressive. Obviously we need it backed up by results on the pitch in time but he's started as well as we could hope.

Also love how the two of them never thought they'd end up owning a club this big. I was thinking the other day that they must just walk onto the SoL pitch and think "fuck me, we own this!". Massive challenge for them but at least we know they're driven, determined to make a success of it and will be open with the fans even if things go badly at any stage. The timing of our drop into league one has worked out very well for them, and we desperately needed owners with access to funds but who also appreciate the need to genuinely reconnect with the fans and give us a reason to believe again. Don't believe in fate, and in true SAFC fashion it might all go to shit, but I think this is going to be a pretty exciting ride

A half decently ran Sunderland, that uses it's size against the smaller clubs but ran as a profit and loss business is at the very least a championship/premier league yo yo club.
That was proved by Bob Murray both with the restriction of Roker and also at the SoL.

Throwing money at it got us 10 years in premier league.

These guys should at very least get us to yoyo level and from there on it'll be interesting what they can do.

It's going to be a fun journey finding out.

Every single player that signs for your lot do exactly the same and yous buzz off it. It isn’t just one player. It’s literally every single one that signs.

Brilliant read and inspiring stuff.
Content aside, I'm struck by two things.
1) Ellis Short always said he wanted to leave the club in safe hands. Early days but after a raft of damaging decisions for our club, he may just have got the most important decision of all spot on.
2) I love the new found fan engagement via outlets like RR and ALS. It's the way it should be and if it leaves the local press (Thomson House in particular) scratching around for copy, then it's nothing more than they deserve after years of contemptuous bias against the club and it's fans.

I think most people are lapping up the rest of the article (what do you think of it by the way?) and other stuff they’ve said and done.

That’s the one bit that people have been slightly critical of so would suggest we’re not lapping up that particular part, certainly not in isolation.
