For me he (Neil) is next best candidate. My only worry is that on the swingometer he's probably a bit closer to LJ than to Keane and I believe what we need right now is a Keanesque straight talking motivator. Straighten them up or ship them out. If Neil gravitate towards too much football this division will catch him out.

Disagree with this…i dont see Neil confusing the players with jargon like LJ….similarly I can see Neil being angry if things havnt gone well ( a la Keano ) whereas LJ would just be apologetic and let the same thing happen the next week

I don’t think they’re too dissimilar, but feel it was Johnson’s inconsistency and streaks. I think (and hope) that Neil will be more solid, whilst still playing aggressive attacking football. Plus he won’t bother with POMO

I don’t know one single north end fan who would praise him. They wanted him out for a long time, he’d scrape a win here and there to paper over the cracks but north end fans I know - plenty of them, I’ve lived here 50 years! - hated his negative style of play and lack of ability to make a decent substitution.
