I knew Alan pretty well from when I used to hang around Dave Bolams Tennicks in my teens when I was as keen as mustard, unfortunately he recently passed away. No one knew the marks around Whitburn as well as Alan, had an unbelievable knowledge of every rock around that part of the coastline. They called him the Whitburn Ghost, as you'd be fishing down there in the dead of night, and all you'd hear is "Owt happenin" and he's stood next to you - he just appeared out of nowhere. He got loads of people
After he died, Andy Rutherford sold all his gear to buy a bench thats being put on top of Whitburn cliffs in honour of "The Whitburn Ghost".

Just a case of hauling it up or do you have nets that can drop?

There’s mullet right up the Thames near me,they are in Kingston.I have caught mullet in Hong Kong and Spain.Aye mate, it is.

Enjoyed this. See a lot of Mullet in SW Scotland when I'm Bass fishing. Tried fishing for the once in the Isle of Man at Douglas harbour, we groundbaited with bread and there were some absolute beasts in the shoal. They'd basically eat every bit of bread, go up to your bread bait with the hook in it, sniff it and leave it
