PSR whinging

But as you have been shown, it is changing man.

Where did Spurs and Man U finish last year?
As already explained Man U have been really badly run. Spurs never do anything.

The top 4/5 are untouchable. The rest of the league are staying up comfortably, that’s why everyone is praying that at least one promoted team stays up.

There is not a hope that anyone breaks into to the top 4 on a regular basis.

Man U will be back up there in a couple of seasons.

But those teams have been built up over a sustained period of time of success and global fan growth, mainly Liverpool, Arsenal & Utd. They make so much money from fans overseas.

Chelsea and City is a bit more of a blurred line because up until Abramovich & the Qatari takeover, if they were bought out now they would be nowhere near as successful.

However, City have consistently sold players at a very good value and retained money because of their sellable assets. Look at the profit they made on Alvarez. The mags complain about PSR, meanwhile have a player who actively wants to leave and rejected a bid for over 100M which they could reinvest into the squad.
It is worth saying that Man City, Chelsea and even Man Yoo, have hoovered up the world's young players for years now, probably with little chance that they'd make the first team. They're just a means to an end.

I was arguing with a mag on here last year (maybe the year before, I forget) bemoaning the fact that Premier League is anti-competitive because Newcastle can't drop a billion on players. This is what I find detestable about them. Theres undeniably some truth in the inequality created by PSR, but a sporting hierarchy sorted simply by the amount of wealth resource that an outsider can plough in isn't sport.

PSR is the lesser evil in that respect.

It isnt rocket science this PSR though is it. Yeah we are spending most of our windfall. If we can stay up, next year will probably need to see us buying and selling, but we are never going to just keep adding to the squad are they, players will be moved on. The challenge is to ensure those that you are selling you are getting enough £ in, to allow you to replace them. Our business is very much with that in mind so I have complete faith we will be fine

You are just repeating the same shite marra, when the actual facts are proving you wrong.

Anti competitive because a country can’t buy them success 🤣

Why? We know the rules and the club is being very sensibly ran in line with them.

We’ll continue to buy young talent, develop, give them a platform to perform and sell them for a profit.

For some reason the Saudi mags believe the rules shouldn’t apply or that they shouldn’t have to sell players to reinvest. It’s absolutely bonkers complaining about the competition rules the majority (including the likes of the mags) voted for.
In amoungst their anger is the reality that its about the long term strategy and cant be about the short term. They're simply impatient idiots and want to win the league tomorrow.

I can see our recruitment team setting us up for long term progression. Never before have i had confidence in sunderland's transfer policy!!!

Could be exciting times ahead for us because of psr

What actual facts, who is breaking into the top 4, is the league becoming more competitive?

Rules need to be in place, but this is not working.

The 2 most exciting premier league seasons were Blackburn & Leicester, that is never happening again.

This is not ‘totally’ aimed at the skunks bleating about ‘Profit and Sustainability Rules’ although they were VERY happy at being “thu richist clerb in thu worrld”. (They were happy at an uneven playing field rather than a more level one).

No….this is aimed at Villa and Forest and Man City (when they are eventually brought to book) et al.
Football was eating itself before these rules came in. It is surely good for the game that ALL clubs are reading from the same hymn book.
Yes, of course, some clubs will be better run than others….that is how competition works….and YES the rules are far from perfect as yet, with too many loopholes.
BUT for the betterment and longevity of the game in England, PSR is surely the right way to go.

…..And I hope to god that WE have had the calculator out to check that we are behaving sustainably!!

(Any thoughts on this?…my fine SMB cohorts)
I would be massively surprised if those working out our finances haven't accounted for every penny we have spent and that we are the right side of PSR.

The mags conveniently forget their takeover was illegal.

This is what I find most hypocritical. They reckon the premier league are corrupt because they won’t let Saudi spend their way to glory but they don’t make such criticisms about Masters waving through the takeover with the ‘assurances’ of no Saudi state involvement and after a nudge from Johnson’s people after a nudge from Bin Salman.

That plus having a shite recruitment team = anger and frustration. Thet also got v lucky with eddie howe taking over. It could have gone very sour very quickly. If anything they should appreciate what they have got.

Nothing stopping clubs like ours getting close to them within a couple of years imo
