The Fishing Thread

He'll find the fishing community always help each other out . Not many arseholes go fishing .Reet Swindon ?

Very true mate.
I bailiff a reservoir down here and not come across a problem.
The Eastern Europeans appear to have adapted to the culture of putting the fish back. The ones I come across are really polite and have a crack with them.

Mind you last week had a Tourette’s lad and a suicide lad.
Great bit of kit for the fishermen from Tronix Pro.

Aimed primarily at the sea angler I think this could have uses for coarse anglers too

Been a bit quiet on this thread. What’s going on?

Mackerel getting caught in Sunderland. Seabass getting caught ON LURES in South Shields.

What’s crawling up the lines in your area?

Not had a chance to go Mate. I have though been treating myself to some new gear.

Hoping to get out tomorrow. The Reservoir down here at least 6 feet down with the recent weather. Plenty of rain yesterday thus hoping it has recovered slightly.
Week Monday the glorious 16th and the Rivers open for fishing 👍🙏🎣

Doesnt seem to have stopped a lot down here. Ive seen more on the banks the last two weeks or so than you do during open season

Canals and Lakes you can fish all year round.
Rivers on from the 16th June.

@Jon Dough @Big Jeff - 3 times in just over a month we’ve had the EA down checking rod licences. Caught a few.👍

Love watching them close like that.
Aye i know that. Mine are respooled and rods cleaned ready to go, but i mean on the River Calder this last couple of week theres been folks there every day. Rang the club bailiffs and let them know but its had no effect

Disappointing.
I do believe there is a national number that you can ring. Not sure how effective it would be though.
It’s the litter that gets me.
I bailiff a large reservoir down here and in fairness it’s not bad. One or two twats still leave their litter behind that we pick up. Hoping the message is getting through.

It’s a fish

Seabass is a common name for various marine fish species, but in the UK and Ireland, it typically refers to the European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax). This fish is popular for its delicate flavor and firm texture, making it a favorite in restaurants and for home cooking.
It's just bass. The tv chefs and posh restaurants labelled it seabass.

Been making up some new rigs to try with boilees after Carp.
This with some new boilees (Krill flavour), a new hair rig set up and some PVA bags full of different pellets etc.

I have a set of mini Fox micron bite alarms to try out.
Looking forward to it and can only hope I get some quality peace and quiet time.
What an incredible day fishing.
@Jon Dough @Big Jeff

Started late morning, left my made up PVA bags at home thus not a good start and new line for my bait runner reels never came so used my 10lb barbel line and reels.

Lost a fish in first 3 hours and no fish until 4pm.
Making up PVA bags whilst fishing, 25mm tube with 4 boilees in each and used a catapult to keep a few going in every half hour. Dipped the hook bait and PVA bag in krill attractor and fished a krill and squid flavoured hook bait.

Last 4 hours beteen 4pm and 8pm caught 15 Carp all between 10ib and 16lb and a Pike that took the bait. Run out of PVA and they were still feeding when I packed up.
Just shows that sometimes best to wait.
Both rods were going off simultaneously and cracking sport. 🎣

Me and my mate are going fishing this week we are agonising over whether to bait fish or use lures.

It’s very early for lures. The sea temp is still a few degrees too cold and we know the better fish fall to bait but the sea is calm and has been for days so visibility is good and we both love lure fishing.

And just to cap it off I’ve just gone and bought a load of new lures. And some very light new J Braid.

It’s going to be lures isnt it!

I hate making those decisions. Start with bait fish and also take a lure rod.
Nothing worse than coming away thinking you should have chosen another method.

Hope you catch mate.
