Yeah but we really don’t want to take two set ups. If we are bait fishing we’ll need tripods, leads, and all the bait.
If we take lures we can fish lighter in the hope of a better fight.

At least on big rivers like the Thames they have a chsnce to escape.
They have decimated the Small Rivers like the Windrush and Cherwell.

Cracking day on the Reservoir today.

18 Carp.
Biggest 23lb and had a 19lb and 18lb. The rest all over 10lb. Mainly Mirror.
Lost 4 - Can only fish Barbless Hooks.
All caught on Sticky Krill Boilees and “glugged” them in Krill attractor and fished PVA bags and catapulted plenty out.

Impressive. We were out last week trying lures but it’s too early. The water is still too cold. We need it to get over 16 degrees.
My job now is to strip off some old braid and load on my new lighter J Braid.
Trying to decide which knot to use for my braid to braid connection with two different breaking strains.
Any suggestions for tried and tested knots gratefully received.

Taking my eldest lad tomorrow afternoon and into the evening.
He has never caught a large fish and taking him Carp fishing. Will set him up a baitrunner rod and looking forward to it.
Hopefully they will continue where they left off Monday.
Hopefully can tell him. “Stop winding.”

In an absolutely incredible fishing store on Tuesday,huge tank filled with trout,a sea tank with a diver swimming amongst the rats and trevally,loads of boats and huge array of fishing tackle.*Rays (not rats,lol).

I wouldn't mind a week pike fishing,sounds fantastic to be honest.I have a 25 minute flight in the morning then a three hour road trip to a river my mate checked a few days ago which is teeming with Salmon.Booked a Weeks Pike fishing trip on the Norfolk Broads first week of October.
