Jack Clarke

Who are the people reporting that? 25 + add ons is a canny price
I seen a couple of things on X can't remember which journalist said it now but I'll try and find it. Mark Douglas reported that the bid was too low before so basically it's been rejected.

It wasn't 25 plus add ons it was 25 including add ons so probably 20 + 5

Incredibly frustrating that we go 2 years without strikers and end up shifting by far our best player in order to bring a couple in.

I understand players will move on to a higher level but fuck me it would have been nice of us to put our hands in our pocket and brought in a player on January to have a go or whatever.

Must sell to maintain positive net spend for the summer

For me, it feels like £20m is probably enough for us to build our the depth in our squad at CB, probably sign the two strikers we need and replace him at left wing with someone who can contribute 10 goals a season.

We have depth at centre half already that we've spent about 4m on thats hardly featured or doesn't look likely to.

Then two strikers and a replacement for Clarke at left wing who can score ten goals??

Unless we pay bigger fees and wages we're taking similar chances - there's absolutely no guarantee.

we have several players already available in those positions that we've already spent money on. For this to work out we need to be doing more than taking more gambles.

All these wet wipes wiping their fannies over clarke maybe going, yes he was our most dangerous forward last year when we had no strikers and most of the time had to beat 2/3 players but to say we don't have a replacement is stupid. We don't need a replacement as good as clarke albeit it would be brilliant but I think with mundle there and the 2 new strikers plus mayender up front he'll only have 1 defender on him. Those 3 c/f whoever plays will take away those defenders that clarke had to get past to make things happen, mundle could be just as effective with his speed going past the right back. Teams aren't gonna put 2/3 players on him when we have such good c/f. Just my thoughts and I don't care if no one agrees

Barnes on Total Sport saying it looks like Clarke will go to Ipswich.
They’ll be negotiating over the fee and expects Ipswich to agree a £20m + £5m add on deal to get it done.
That div said we likely won’t sign a striker as well - other than a prem kid on loan.

Someone should ask him about the Isidor links.

He’s probs right about Clarke mind, but I resigned myself to him going this season.

If we keep Clarke our chances of going up are a damn sight better than if we sell him. In light of other championship deals that have gone through and the fact that Ipswich are rolling in it, we should not accept any deal less than £25m up front.
If we were to accept £20m and £5m add ons don’t forget Spurs will take a big chunk of that. This, who for me is the stand out player in our league.

Its utterly depressing we've got to sell our best player for whatever we can get to be able to sign a striker.

Pitiful really

Personally don’t think Barnes has a clue what goes on at the club, he was telling us we weren’t going to sign a striker a week ago and viola 2 incoming.
