Jack Clarke

Which is why simic 'isn't as far advanced' as the loan deal. Its the same money, 100%. Just like stewart last summer.
Funny how people are missing this. The owner is funding fuck all. We are only spending what we are making. And then the club are disingenuous as fuck by saying we are going for promotion ffs.

It's absolutely obvious, the exact same thing happened last year before Stewart went.

Can't find a striker all summer and now suddenly find 2 to bring in just as it emerges we are in talks with Ipswich over Clarke.

Are you expecting these 2 strikers to come in and then spend the other 15-20m on top?
I’m not even sure these two strikers WILL come in.

Could just be the Stewart money being used though considering that didn’t get used, who knows it’s all guess work as well never truly know the ins and outs of these transfers.

I think we are daft to take anything less than 30 mill this late in to the transfer window, which means we shouldn’t be selling him at all.

Stinks of Speakman snideyness.

Flog the gold and buy two strikers, nobody can moan because we needed a striker for donkeys.
Hides the fact they won’t have any decent supply quality on that side.

Thinks we’re all falling off banana trees that bloke.

The ownership will cover the operating losses and that's pretty much it. There's a clear sell to buy policy in the last 2 years.

I am fully expecting Ipswich to come back in with a bid that totals £25m and they will get him.

I also think this will bring about a slight change in the way we play and having two wingers who's main job will be to supply this Simic, Isidor or Mayenda. I fully expect the striker to be the focal point going forwards rather than Jack Clarke.

I'll certainly miss him as he has been exceptional for us but if the time and the money is right for him, who are we to argue if we get the right money for him.

We need big investment coming out of this though, both in paying fees for players and better wages for some of our top players to take us forwards.

Hope Clarke plays Saturday though and gets a great send off if he is likely to go.

IF Clarke is sold, with current incoming rumors here's our first and second string (with Alese/O'nien, Rigg/Browne, and Roberts/Poveda battling it out for starting spots through the season).

Patto
Hume Ballard Alese Cirkin
Neil Jobe Rigg
Roberts Simic Isidor

Moore
Huggins Onien Seelt Hjelde
Browne Adil Ekwah
Poveda Mayenda Mundle

If we sell Clarke, it would be a gut punch and slow our current momentum, but looking at those lineups, I still think we are easily a top half side pushing top 6. Add in a full back because Huggins will never be fit, maybe another winger depending on outgoings. PL loans perhaps. I don't think a Day 1 replacement for Clarke that will slot in and replace his production right away exists, not one we could ever afford anyways.
Alese isn't getting the centre back spot in front of O9. Luke's passing and general play is far better.

Reading some of the replies last night, there’s a few who are still eating out of his palm.

Speakman is limited in what he can do when the club are clearly on a sell to buy policy.

I must be a wet wipe wiping my Fanny, either that or you are talking out of your backside. Mundle is not a decent replacement for Clarke.
His day may come but not anytime soon.
Read my post as I didn't say he was I said he was decent enough as he wouldn't have 2/3 players on him that clarke had on him last year. He's good enough and quick to be at a man 1 on 1 as that's what he'll have marking him with the 2 new c/f taking other defenders away from him.

If we sell Clarke for £25m it’ll confirm a lot of people’s fears about the real ambitions of this ownership.

Leeds have just got £40m for Rutter. Who averaged about a goal in every ten games for them.

if Ipswich want our crown Jewels they're gonna need to put 10 million onto the price . And Signing 2 players who've done it in top leauges despite their young age for small outlay is superb business . I think its more a statement of intent
