Jack Clarke

All these wet wipes wiping their fannies over clarke maybe going, yes he was our most dangerous forward last year when we had no strikers and most of the time had to beat 2/3 players but to say we don't have a replacement is stupid. We don't need a replacement as good as clarke albeit it would be brilliant but I think with mundle there and the 2 new strikers plus mayender up front he'll only have 1 defender on him. Those 3 c/f whoever plays will take away those defenders that clarke had to get past to make things happen, mundle could be just as effective with his speed going past the right back. Teams aren't gonna put 2/3 players on him when we have such good c/f. Just my thoughts and I don't care if no one agrees
Aye let’s just go with what we’ve got and plod on until the end of the season

I must be a wet wipe wiping my Fanny, either that or you are talking out of your backside. Mundle is not a decent replacement for Clarke.
His day may come but not anytime soon.

Incredibly frustrating that we go 2 years without strikers and end up shifting by far our best player in order to bring a couple in.

I understand players will move on to a higher level but fuck me it would have been nice of us to put our hands in our pocket and brought in a player on January to have a go or whatever.

Must sell to maintain positive net spend for the summer
Where does it say that the Clarke fee is funding the other deals ?

There’s no set rule tbh.

When we sold Ross Stewart some reported it as £10m + £2m add ons, but others £8m + £2m guaranteed add ons + £2m potential add ons. As the fee was undisclosed we’ll never know what the real structure was.
They reported that because it was £10m guaranteed plus £2m

Either one would be correct

I’m saying there’s no reason to doubt that SAFC will do their utmost to ensure any add ons are either guaranteed or attainable. Given Stewart is the only we have experience of and 50% of his add ons were

It's absolutely obvious, the exact same thing happened last year before Stewart went.

Can't find a striker all summer and now suddenly find 2 to bring in just as it emerges we are in talks with Ipswich over Clarke.

Are you expecting these 2 strikers to come in and then spend the other 15-20m on top?

thats not what add ons are..add ons are conditions..for example ipswich may say the other £5mn is if they stay up...
Yes I’m saying that Stewart’s transfer was £8m up front and £2m guarantee add ons. Or guaranteed fee. Whatever you call it, calling it guaranteed makes it pretty clear what the meaning is

Sorry I don't think it is, don't think both are linked at all. Though I maybe wrong

For me, it feels like £20m is probably enough for us to build our the depth in our squad at CB, probably sign the two strikers we need and replace him at left wing with someone who can contribute 10 goals a season.

It's perfectly possible that with a more balanced side we will actually improve in terms of goals across the side, and become a better attacking team.

You really think the club would reinvest all of Clarkes sale?....no chance.

There's Spurs % to take off, and then we'll be lucky to see 6/7m spent on 2 players and a loan.
