The mags are claiming Durham CC now

This thread seems to have degenerated into a 'who cares the least' argument, instead of discussing the perfectly valid discussion of why is a famous Newcastle folk song being used as a Durham ccc anthem? And why are durham ccc supporters so accepting about the newcastlefication of their club?

You've posted like 100 times on a cricket forum, having never posted before, because you are absolutely raging about a song you claim Durham aren't allowed to sing. :lol:

A complete breakdown. This is what i mean about only football fans, they are just simple minded and used to throwing abuse at players and staff, they cant handle anything.
You are coming across a bit angry mate. I am just having a discussion about the origins of the famous Newcastle folk song being used by Durham County Cricket club. What are the origins of it?

:lol::lol::lol:

You are punching walls here like. Step away from your computer and just breath mate.

- Durham big meeting (again), eh!! :lol: :lol: that must mean using the logic of some on here all those left Labour supporters and pit miners are Mags along with the organisers

Have a read back through the thread. It’s a County Durham folk song, was the gist of it.
It kinda mentions more places in Newcastle though, doesn't it? Is this why Newcastle sing it? Would you say it was a county durham song stolen by Tyneside then?

Wow!

I think you know.Why do Newcastle fans sing 'the Blaydon races'?
So using your logic everyone who attends Durham Big Meeting are Newcastle fans because that song is sang every year at Durham Big Meeting. Probably means using your logic, the majority of Sunderland are Mags as Sunderland will be heavily represented at Durham Big Meeting

Aye mate. Logic says all labour supporters and pit miners are mags( your logic). Are you OK? That looks absolutely shite by the way

Its been sang at Durham for longer than you have been alive. You are way out of your depth

It’s a song associated with Newcastle both locally and nationally (Newcastle the city and more recently the football club which you seem to be suggesting I’m referencing solely here). The lyrics to the song are predominantly about Newcastle. Scotswood, Collingwood Street, Armstrong factory, Blambra’s are all Newcastle.

How long Durham have or haven’t been singing it is neither here nor there to any of the points I’ve made so I’ve got nothing to correct. If they want to sing it, it’s up to them and it’s not that offensive to me. But it’s a Newcastle song like.

Is that song sung by everyone? Looks about 50 people singing it
