boygenius this Friday. Looking forward to that and Gunnersbury Park

@James are you doing deathcrash tomorrow ?
The first couple of songs they've released from the album are excellent. Looking forward to it. As an aside, discovered City of the Sun eponymous debut the other day, really enjoyed it.

A good few there I'll be looking at.

Boy Genius just announced a fairly massive outdoor gig in Dublin, very surprised at the size of the venue, are they just basing this on Phoebes populairty now? I know boy genius and really like their stuff but kinda presumed they'd be playing a medium sized indoor venue.

Phoebe is massive, but Julien and Lucy are both pretty well known too

Will be interesting to see if they just do boygenius stuff, as they haven’t even released an album yet! (an EP doesn’t count)

you'd think the promoters have done their due dilligence alright am just surprised, for example the last few gigs there last summer were Liam Gallagher, The Frames (who are massive in Ireland) and Forbidden Fruit which is an annual three day festival.

Very good week this week: Boygenius, The Holdsteady and New Pornos are musts for me, and I’ll give Samiam and Deerhoof a go if I have time.

There's loads there for me. You'd probably like Chip Taylor, veteran singer songwriter who's a contemporary of John Prine (although his most famous songwriting credit is "Wild Thing").
