Eh…At least the monarchy are showing they are modernising. I still don’t get the album mind, but fair play to them

James Holden got an absolutely wonder write up in The Guardian and for my Sunday night listening it sound pretty awful to me. Getting switched in a second…
On first listen, it's kind of okay but he's done better previously.
It’s maybe not the vibe I’m after in a Sunday night context.
Must apologise as well Arkle as you had LIES on your list but I wasn’t paying attention close enough! I have put that one now which is a bit more palatable
No need to apologise and tell me (and the thread) what it's like. I\m working through the week's releases but off to my mam's for Easter tomorrow and never get quite as much music listened to up there.
The Alasdair Roberts album is superb (if you like austere Scottish alt-folk). Gave it early listening as I was seeing him last night in a small venue. He was bloody brilliant, solo set for just two hours.
boygenius is obviously good.
A band I’ve never loved are the New Pornographers. The new record is very decent
I’m really enjoying Lies but I feel a bit biased so always get a bit tetchy around being repetitive - however it’s like a Depeche Mode with a more relaxed feel - elements of Blue Nile thrown in too. Strings galore, electrical elements with that mid west emo swing. Really, really good.
Wow, thats a blast from the past! There are new albums tomorrow from Ben Gregory, Billie Marten, Blondshell, Cub Sport, Daniel Caesar, Daughter, Ellie Goulding, Heather Woods Broderick, HMLTD, Mudhoney, Ruston Kelly, Sam Corbett, Thomas Bangaltier, Wednesday, The Young'uns, Nick Waterhouse, Tim Hecker, North Americans, Emma Tricca, Sissoko Segal Parisien Peirani, Jana Horn, Josephine Foster and Rachel Baiman.
