Just seen a post from Newcastle fans tv on Facebook.
“Meanwhile, other clubs are getting beat off local non-league sides”
About hebburn beating our u23s.
That is up there with one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen from mags

I fancy the mags to go down tbh I don’t see why people think they’ll break into the top 10 they have a large championship contingent in their squad

I think people think that because we finished 11th despite not winning a game until December. The team improved a lot over the second half of the season. 6th best in the league since Howe took over, 4th best in the league over the final 19 games.

I'm not saying that I definitely think we'll finish top half but that is probably why some people think Newcastle will finish top 10. Adding Botman and Pope improves competition in them positions, as well as Trippier going to play more than half a dozen games.
That's probably why people think top 10 is possible.

Just wondering what the context was for @jlaws question considering what the figures are.

You could probably look at Stoke/Bolton in their top half finishes but there wasn't the disparity and volume between the have/have nots in those days.

Dunno. Doubtful like. Maybe Newcastle under Benitez would be somewhere near that figure. Wolves maybe.
