Fed up with this 'winning' free kicks. The 'fouled' player is already on his tippy toes ready for a dramatic collapse as his knees suddenly give way almost before the opposition player gets near him. Happens in L1 games too. (Except for Stewart who isn't given a free kick even when being strangled)

It's not "winning free kicks". It's cheating.

And it could be snuffed out in a few weeks if the FA had a mind to do it. A few weeks of sending off and yellow cards for overacting and diving and you'd see it done away with

I remember a few years ago pundits started saying that if you felt contact it was legitimate to go down. It seemed to kind of become the accepted wisdom. Its bullsh1t.

What gets me is not the going down so much, but the rolling around and feigning injury as if that tiny tap to the ankle was a leg breaker.

If its a foul, and he goes down. Free kick.

If he overacts and wastes time.... free kick but yellow card for the player.

If they still insist they're injured... off the pitch to be sorted and force managers to substitute, or play a few mins with 10 men.

We'd get a breed of tougher footballers within a month

Manchester City are technically absolutely fantastic at what they do but watching them play 90 percent of teams in the league is visually like watching paint dry.

Them V Leeds the other night was an utter procession.

Interesting one this, I binned off Sky Sports years ago, but occasionally, if we've an away match on I'll take the months pass out on NOW TV and binge the games.
Took the Now pass out for the Plymouth game so have been watching a few PL games lately. Maybe it's due to my overall distancing from them in general, but I've pretty much enjoyed all of the games I've watched.
