Yes I’m being slightly pedantic tbf. I have friends in Tallinn and they will say the same as me though. I visit Tallinn at least 3/4 times a year and the way it’s airbrushed is an annoynedce to them. Same with Latvians/Lithuanians. I mean It was a big thing to them :lol:

Anyway I don’t think people want history lesson. Although I do like your story about the free Pole. My cousins Grandad was a polish resistance fighter. Survived the Warsaw uprising settled in Sunderland after the war. Lived in Grangetown until he died.

I've only been once, spent a week in Moscow and St Petersburg. I was due to go back there in August, but no chance of that now.

My girlfried's grandfather was a partisan with Tito. Spent 2 years in Mathausen for this troubles.

Aye exactly. I’m the same. Seen a few posts regarding slagging off brexit supporters, Johnson etc. Maybe they deserve ridicule but go to the politics board.

I really suspect that the reason why the EU is more effective and fast acting is because they don't have the Brits vetoing everything and slowing everything down

Your only three contributions to this forum today have been to post this twice (once here, once in the Politics Forum) and to attack the journalist who broke down in tears for her Ukrainian friends and colleagues yesterday when addressing Boris Johnson.

Why?

It’s a very strange and dare I say ‘far right’ path to go down all things considered.
 
This thread is my go to place for updates, or has been for a couple weeks now, but I’m finding it tedious scrolling through Brit / EU bashing. Can’t this thread just stay as sharing updates on the war in Ukraine from verified sources 🤷‍♂️ it’s not the time for a knob sizing competition between various organisations and states for who is helping the quickest, fastest or best really.

Yep, very wrong, while the rest (as far as I’ve seen) of the sporting world are making the right decisions - arguably the biggest organisation, the IOC, have f*cked up.

I expect they’ll change their decision before the opening ceremony on Friday, mind.
