Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

What Russia fail to realise is that in this day and age, we live in Social Media etc world, which is a huge hurdle for the Ruski's to overcome. The truth can no longer be hidden and their propaganda machine just seems... old school, where the west have embraced modern methods of sharing information.
They have the ability to control / switch off social media .... that won't go down well though

Perhaps an overthrow could be on the cards with half of his military hardware mired in the Ukraine mud ...

The richest class will be furious that they can no longer access western luxuries ( and that their savings are now frozen )

The middle class will be appalled that they are basically no longer allowed to holiday in The west - and that a new iron curtain is falling restricting their freedoms

And the poorest will be appalled that their savings cannot now buy even the daily groceries ....

A lot of potential for unrest then ?

I think the west's best policy is simply to stand back & tighten the financial screw and let Russia implode from the Inside

.... And in the meantime diligently build up our protective forces to convince Putin that NATO woukd crush him if he ever dared to go further

Yes I know. That’s why I said never made it further. They surrounded Leningrad. Never made it beyond Moscow and never went further than Stalingrad. That’s about 25%(maybe even less?) of Russia. Ukraine and Belarus’s were completely destroyed.

It may be only 25% of Russias landmass, but huge chunks of Russia are almost empty.

I think you might be being a bit pedantic

I do however take your point about Russian invading parts of Poland. A friend of mines dad was one of the Poles captured and sent to Siberia by the Russians. After Operation Barbarossa the Brits persuaded the Russians to release their Polish prisoners to form a free Polish army. In order to join the Brits they had to travel from Siberia to Iran, marching most of the way. From Tehran he saw service in Africa, before joining the Paras. He fought at Arnhem. Only died a couple of years ago.
You're making a serious accusation. The votes were not rigged.

And your making a fool of yourself

Again

Seems mean to ban the disabled. Right thing to do but I can’t help imagining them slowly wheeling away in wheelchairs looking glum.

Seen a few videos on twitter that suggest there are a very large number of Russian kids missing arms and legs right now, they're gonna have a great pool of potential athletes for the next one.

Russian and Belarusian Paralympic athletes allowed to compete in the Paralympic Games, under a “neutral” team.

Wrong decision imo.
There weren't many people calling for Russia to be banned when they were bombing Syria into dust. Strange that.

Doesn’t seem fair. It seems like banning an egg and spoon race kid and their dad at a sports day cos they’re mags.

Cos they had brown faces and were muzzies innit.
