Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

It may be only 25% of Russias landmass, but huge chunks of Russia are almost empty.

I think you might be being a bit pedantic

I do however take your point about Russian invading parts of Poland. A friend of mines dad was one of the Poles captured and sent to Siberia by the Russians. After Operation Barbarossa the Brits persuaded the Russians to release their Polish prisoners to form a free Polish army. In order to join the Brits they had to travel from Siberia to Iran, marching most of the way. From Tehran he saw service in Africa, before joining the Paras. He fought at Arnhem. Only died a couple of years ago.

And your making a fool of yourself

Again
I know mate. I’ve visited Russia a few times actually, I’ve always been quite fascinated with the place. I’m not anti-Russian( well their government I am). It’s a tragedy the place is locked away to the rest of the world tbfh..

Yes I’m being slightly pedantic tbf. I have friends in Tallinn and they will say the same as me though. I visit Tallinn at least 3/4 times a year and the way it’s airbrushed is an annoynedce to them. Same with Latvians/Lithuanians. I mean It was a big thing to them

Anyway I don’t think people want history lesson. Although I do like your story about the free Pole. My cousins Grandad was a polish resistance fighter. Survived the Warsaw uprising settled in Sunderland after the war. Lived in Grangetown until he died.

Seems mean to ban the disabled. Right thing to do but I can’t help imagining them slowly wheeling away in wheelchairs looking glum.
Problem I have with it some, not all will have learning disabilities and possibly not understand why thy can’t compete, if they’d taken a decision to ban them before they travelled OK but now they’re there I’m not sure

I reckon it is the stutter.
I'm sure Biden isn't as sharp as he was when he was half his age but he is probably wiser. I know that applies to me.
Also, can we bury this cult of personality shite about leaders, good leaders listen they delegate. Putin and us are in this mess as no one can tell him he has overstepped the mark.
In Biden's speech i saw AOC on her feet at times and right wing Democrats on there feet at times . Consensus isn't sexy but we need it.
As we get older, a person might well be less sharp intellectually, and maybe be generally a bit wiser, but that doesn't mean that you do the right thing.

Take me for example. As a younger man, I was very pro EU. Over the years my viewpoint changed to anti EU, which ultimately led me to vote leave. However over the last six months my opinions have returned to my political views of my earlier years (I'm 54).

To all the people that saw through the vote leave lies, I apologise for temporarily being a fuckwit for a number of years, and it took something like this to fully see the errors of my ways.

If there was another referendum today I'd vote to join the EU, and vote Labour. With the Corbyn leadership gone, I have no worries in voting labour as I always used to.

I can understand why they thought it would work. They've still had great success with various propaganda campaigns in recent years. Like you say, an invasion of this scale on a European country... probably a step to far to contain the propaganda surrounding that in this day and age.
Putin's approval levels have gone up during the war

Ooooooo, brave man, I like it. I’d love to reply with lots of needless sweary words but I’m on a warning and behaving. However, do you mind if I hurl a ‘you bellend’ at you?
