Putins world superpower army is currently being clipped and he’s embarrassed. This nuclear deterrent thing is just a face save. He was careful about his worlds. Deterrent. IE don’t shoot at us or we’ll shoot back. Well nobody is gonna shoot at him. He’s finished.

Russian nuke doctrine says can use "if integrity of state threatened". He gets to make the rules on that & if he's been advised that west has caused poss regime change via sanctions, he could well view that as integrity of state threatened.

Not a huge leap I fear.

I think it was being talked about a while before he made the nukes comment

It was suggested to take place in Belarus but zelenskey said no. Had to be somewhere else.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the nukes comment was said in public once the meeting looked likely - gives him the chance to say the meeting is as a result of the threat abs let’s him save face
