I can't see what the peace talks will achieve unfortunately. Surely Ukraine's only talking point for peace will be getting the Russians to fuck off and stop the invasion? I can't see him accepting many compromises that Putin will likely want to make this look like some sort of success

My GUESS is that Putin have assurances that Ukraine would fall quickly & now it has fucked up he's had some explaining to do. Oligarchs, Chinese for starters.
Very very notable that apparently he asked Kazakhstan for forces & they refused. China may have had a hand in that.

Sounds to me like he is doing crap and he knows he has been found out.
It's worrying though, the last roll of the dice of a mad man with nuclear weapons is a scary thought.
I think Putin had massively miscalculated the response from both Ukraine and internationally.
I hope this Putin looking for a face saving way out of all this.
