I don't know one Welsh person that wants their child to learm Welsh...and I know quite a few goats.
Depends where abouts in Wales doesn't it? Some areas didn't have a native Welsh speaking population and others haven't for hundreds of years. Same as Ireland. There are very few Irish speakers in limerick because of its history.

My wife is from the south but I have lots of north Welsh friends and they seem to moan that their kids speak what they call English Welsh. So for Llangollan they say Langolen like a lot of English do.

I also know several Welsh people and not one of them has any issue with them, their kids or relatives learning Welsh in school. There are no doubt some in the south who question the amount of money spent on it, but they all have a few words in Welsh and are still proud of the language. I'd be very surprised if there wasn't statistical research on Welsh attitudes to the language.

Looks like it's game on anyway...

I'm no military strategist but I read this as planning to "liberate" a land corridor to Crimea.

Landing craft groups on East & West sides of it & airspace closed.

I never said they didn't teach kids Welsh...it was POH that said it was banned.
It was and now it's not. It's a good comparison with Wales and the Ukraine because there are loads of monolingual Russian speakers in the Ukraine that consider themselves Ukrainian, while there are monolingual Russian speakers that have always thought of themselves as just Russian like those in the Crimea. Even those that have Ukrainian as their first language use Russian day to day.

Sorry how about dictatorship bowing anti western war mongering fruit loop.

The alt-right have a hard on for Putin and his Conservative authoritarianism.
The tankies still have their heads up their arses about about Western imperialism and will play useful idiot to any regime, however abhorrent, they perceive as being the target of such, e.g. George Galloway in Iraq c.1991.

It's known as strategic tension, a ploy to sow fear and/or harm among an enemy's civilian population.

Although the perceived threat is bigger in Ukraine, there are far more harmful examples of strategic tension going on right now, eg state backed terrorism in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, economic sanctions specifically targeted to hurt the civilian populations of Venezuela, Yemen and Iran.
So they won’t categorically invade Ukraine?

I should have said “so they won’t categorically invade anymore land in Ukraine”
The best think to do is hold a referendum in the east and both agree to abide by the desicion. The NATO issue should be put on the back burner until that is sorted.
