Deserves huge praise I think this last couple month, depleted squad and has more than kept us in touch. He is improving players and has a record of getting the best out of strikers.

We play the best football I've seen from any side since we came down to League one. He seems to have found a way to get us competing against physical sides after the early season blip. Its a joy to watch us at times, haven't said that for years.

If we do miss out then I think he'll be given another season. But I dont see two sides finishing ahead of us as long as Stewart stays fit.
We cannot have another year down here
Mind .

WE CANNOT

Not sure what you’re on about. Before today it had been over two months since we conceded more than 1 goal in an away league game.
Read it again . Whenever we have played a decent side we conceded goals . That’s what I am on about . Big strong attritional sides and we don’t cope defensively. Pompey, Rotherham, Sheff Wed and Wycombe . That’s a concern

What if the bad run wasn’t his fault?

I can’t get my head around this simplistic, childish viewpoint that whenever the team loses a game it’s the managers fault. There are all sorts of reasons why a team can go on a bad run - player errors, injuries, bad refereeing and plain bad luck for example. None of those are within the control of a manager.

Losing single games in isolation wouldn’t necessarily be the managers fault. And of course there can be contributing factors. But losing sequences of games with familiar and recurring errors, eg conceding of poor goals from corners, can be attributed to poor organisation and / or recruitment.

It may be childish and simplistic to Meta footballing visionaries but that tends to be how the game works. When teams have objectives, e.g gain promotion, and they’re not achieved then the coach tends to go because the results haven’t been good enough. That’s true of clubs at every level of the game.

Is there not an element thay recruiting proper footballers like Pritchard, leaves you vulnerable to very physical sides? You probably cant have both at this level.

I thought we were excellent today

Give him some more players in January

More like Pritchard
I think he's a complete one off. They just don't come along more than once in a long while.

The last player we brought in that we wrongly thought had probably seen his best days was Defoe.

There are a few areas we need to improve on, namely individual errors like those of Gooch,Embleton in good positions today as well as those defensive lapses of Flanagan, Doyle and Cirkin. However, the overall improvement both individually and as a team represents an outstanding achievement by the manager and his team. Today, was a slight disappointment because our silky football deserved a better reward.

Has someone hacked your account?

I agree tho, playing well at the minute and he deserves praise (as he deserved an amount of criticism when we were playing awfully).

I'm not as negative as people make out  there's just usually not much positive.

I think we could have recruited a kick it and head it centre back . That’s not on Johnson I know
I dont disagree but they'd have to be able to pass it out the back or our whole system and attacking play will be impacted.

Mind, flanagan has adjusted well to it surprisingly.

I can't believe there are some idiots on this thread who are saying they would keep Johnson 'even if we don't go up'.

With the players at his disposal now, it would be a monumental failure on his part to not get us promoted. The consequences would be desisting for our long term plans anarl - with Stewart, Cirkin, Neil, Embleton, Pritchard all probably moving on to better things if we have to stick around league one.

He's doing a decent job at the minute. If he fails to get promoted, however, he ABSOLUTELY has to go. It would be a disgrace.

Watching the Wycombe manager Ainsworth after the game going round the pitch he looked like he couldnt believe they`d scrapped a point . The longer the season goes on the more I realise we are good and getting better.

We`re on the march to promotion. LJs got the team playing well and its only a matter of time before we open up a gap at the top of L1. As Cambridge proved today its not easy to play L1 teams and we have to fight for promotion.

I think they definitely exist . That may have been where we may have been ambitious and spent . Until today Flanagan has been outstanding

The quality of football the last month or so have gone up another level and going forward we are genuinely a pleasure to watch. 3 bad goals given away again today though 2 from corners. I still think when teams attack us we look like we will concede.

Set pieces are the issue imo. From open play we arent too bad defensively.
