A very quiet week. My potted review of new stuff I've listened to:
Liars: arthousey rock, although in saying that, possibly their most accessible album. Good.
Willy Mason: perfectly cromulent singer-songwriter stuff. He's never really lived up to "Where the Humans Eat".
Ishmael Ensemble: exceptionally good. There are elements of jazz, electronica, indie rock and more here. I'm impressed
Mr Jukes & Barney Artist: likeable, fun Daisy Ageish hip-hop. Mr Jukes is Jack Stadman from Bombay Bicycle Club so something of a departure for him.
Lingua Ignota: serious stuff. This is Lingua Ignota's Kristin Hayter tackling religion by means of abrasive instrumentation and operatic vocals. Reminds me a bit of Swans.
Album of the week: Ishmael Ensemble's album is exceptionally good.
Just seen that Ty Segall surprise released a new album last week so will get to that soon.
