NHS budgeting idea

Make sure to include adults paying the costs of healthcare for their children who just run around and fall over. I don't want to be paying for someone else's child having a broken bone from running around "playing". A child will injure themselves so should be restrained at all times to avoid potential hospital bills.

I've never heard anyone pre plan a car crash or sports injury.

Behave yourself :D

I've never heard of anyone pre-plan to get smoking-related diseases.

If you wanna travel in a 1-ton metal death machine that pumps out poisons that kill the rest of us and the atmosphere, then you should lose your free healthcare.

It was labour under Tony Bliar that introduced the internal market into the NHS
And your point is?
I have about as much trust in this government as I do in your prescience.
no need, love how you have ignored a very important point about it literally heading that way anyway, or do you feel it's not heading that way with private contracts? Or did you just feel the need to be rude? Given your a staff member surely you shouldn't be setting a better example?

This is all about personal responsibility.

Here is my proposal.

Every working adult will have a set amount, say £40 per month taken from their wage at source. Every year on the 1st of December everyone’s medical records will be examined and any treatment that has been administered for self-inflicted illness will be costed against said contributions.

Any ailments resulting from over eating, alcoholism, smoking and other destructive drugs will be charged from your account. If, however, none of your treatments are related to the aforementioned categories, a full rebate plus associated interest will be forthcoming...£500 would make a decent Xmas I think.

It would also be useful to install a worldometer type database to show daily deaths, amputations from obesity etc.

Carrot and stick can work well together.

how do you know people over eat ?
“ excuse me sir how much did you scoff last night “
Or “excuse me how much did you drink in November “

it’s not a workable solution is it ?

That it's not this government you should be blaming, the long term PFI contracts the NHS are tied to predate this government and are a legacy of the last labour governments
I'm not blaming any government nobby, I think they are all in together, the big private health companies have been eyeing up the nhs up for years, money speaks, it's only natural that they will get more and more of their hands on it. I think the Tories have more than doubled the private contracts but don't quote me on that.

You brought up the subject of the government and then introduced a straw man element to your argument.

I commented on your original post not to be rude, but simply because I thought it was a breathtakingly stupid statement.

No I elaborated on it a bit more, and let's be honest, you chose to be rude. Cheers

Sounds complicated. Private healthcare is cheap as chips. And better. Should be compulsory for anyone earning over say 30k PA.
That would result in privatisation of the NHS with the government paying money to private practices in order to treat the poor.

It would result in a terrible situation where the poor aren't treated for their illness.

I'm a person that needs to know what I have done wrong, so thank you for that. However, what you see as deliberate is entierly your view for I carry not one ounce of malice.

I don't know who over eats, but 50 amputations a day s what the proffesionals use as a guide.
