Running thread 2021

Getting a popping sensation in my achillies tendon but no pain.

Feel like it's going to be another physio trip.

I've not even been running very much recently. May was the least miles I've done this year by a fair bit.

Just done a 5k and legs felt fine. Couple days reflection about the marathon, just have this nagging in the back of my mind that I didn’t do myself justice. Might train to get my half marathon time below 2hours (current PB is 2.05ish) then do another marathon when it cools later in the year, maybe a flat road one and do a time I’m proud of. Proud of the money I raised but not of the run itself.

I've not been for a run in a couple of weeks. Legs are fine now. I've been walking a lot, but I suspect I'll need to get out for a run again soon.

Absolutely roasting here, hampering my couch to elite ultra distance runner plans.

I need to introduce a speed session; I can just do hill repeats right? Sprint up a hill a few times?

A standard track session for me would be 16 x 400m. try 8 x 400m for your first go.

Not really able to do track sessions unless the weather is shitty or I go at 6am. It gets overrun with tribes of ancient Chinese women or Indian men out for a stroll in groups 10 wide.

There's a 8% hill just round the corner from me, used that for a session last night. 45 second sprints with a 2 minute-ish recovery. Didn't do many repeats, easing myself back into it. Must be about decade since I last sprinted.
