He seemed to imply Johnson will still be here even if we don’t go up

It seems obvious to me that he will. He's come in half way through a season and we've seen big improvements in our style of play. He's already earned the chance to work with Speakman to build a squad that can play the way he wants next season.

Some fans have already called for him to be sacked though (albeit they're very quiet right now) and there are plenty that will see a failure to be promoted as a sackable offence.

Even though his English is excellent, I reckon he's made a bit of a mistake using the term asset-stripping. I'm sure it's not an intentional side swipe at his partners. They may be minority shareholders but they need to get along, don't they?

Not any longer. They're not directors, it looks to me based on events today that they're being allowed to keep their shares but have literally zero say in anything. They won't even have a voice in the discussions, let alone a say in the direction.

At this point, he has made clear what he thought of them.

Very clear that the the aim is to get promoted if possible but it's not the be all and end all.
I think we should be disappointed if we don't, but so long as we keep looking like we're progressing there's no need to rush to make a change based on the last few weeks. The pressure will rightly be there next year though if not.

Tbf he's already made some notable changes. The changes at the academy. Bringing in data analysts. Employing a more modern and professional approach. Its clearly a world away from donald and methven.
That's the main difference, in the first week of Donald's ownership how many real changes did he make for the club?

KLD has appointed people with actual credibility, people with a background in business finance, business law, people with a knowlege of football at elite levels and let's be honest, in all likely hood, the staff changes regarding Speakman, Johnson and the academy all came through KLD. This is nothing like Donald's take over.

KLD’s people, not necessarily himself, will know business like the back of their hand if they’re overseeing the finances of the family. They should have it water tight that Donald and co are involved in name only and their positions and paperwork behind it are effectively worthless.

This all day. Also not even a shred of doubt he has the financial resilience to see the job through.

This you?

IIRC thst poster started a thread giddy with excitement about how well we played the Bournemouth game we got relegated from the prem which says it all really.

I'm not getting carried away. I lapped up the words from the previous two owners saying exactly what i wanted to hear after short's tenure.

cautiously optimistic... again
After getting carried away and being fooled by the hype surrounding McMenemy's arrival, all those years ago, and more recently, initially falling for SD's charm offensive, and Salmon Slacks straight talking, I'm also optimistic, without getting carried away, that this appointment is the right fit for our club.
By God, it gladdened my heart, to hear KLD speaking of the two chancer's, assest stripping the club.
Perhaps not the most tactful choice of words, but the right choice of words, for probably the vast majority, of long suffering Sunland fans, who share the views of KLD.

A new dawn, brings new beginnings, and new hope.
Sunland 'til I die ❤
