Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

I think we need to separate Sartori from the other two to be honest. My own thoughts are that he's as unimpressed with the other two as we are. He's been distracted by politics to give it enough attention until recently, and he's just as matey with KLD. Also bear in mind that Johnson is coming as head coach, not manager. He'll have little say in recruitment or retention.

Spot on GOM. A lot of people lumping JS in with SD and CM,which may be a wrong assumption.

He also had little interest in football before us. Dreyfus family have been involved in it for years.

His Dad Dad was the main man and is no longer around, so not really buying the Dreyfus family thing. I'm just thinking he surely can't be any worse than Donald and hopefully has big ambitions.

Read what's going on Bob with you not addressed anything you've said
Do they realise (SD and CM) that they are despised and if so do they realise why by the supporters?
Genuine question btw
Ok mate CM was asked by SD to join this club on the basis he was gonna do PR and media but SD asked him to step up when he realised it was a massive job.
When the wheels fell off re the Ross era CM wanted to bring in fresh investment JS agreed but SD did not want any of it.
Do I blame any of them. Yes but the buck stops with SD for now.
And yes they know how much we are pissed off but once you dip your toe its hard to pull out.

Ha'way man. I'm saying compared to Short who'd probably never seen a game of 'soccer' before Quinny pulled him into it.

Anyway, as you say. No guarantees. There never are, but I'm hopeful this new plan works out.

The manager should have a say in recruitment though. I'm all for having structure, and agreeing on a playing style, but we should have a panel of people within the club that are responsible for agreeing our transfer targets (including Johnson). Hopefully this is the case.

At least short was a self made man with business acumen, not that it got us anywhere.

Johnson said: “Speaking to Kristjaan, Jim and the owners, I was absolutely blown away by their plans and dreams for the club.”

Sounds like dumb and dumber aren’t going anywhere.
It’s the ownership group including the parasites

I think he'll have some say, at the very least positionally, and the choice from a list of targets, but that's about it. I did say earlier that this needs to be a totally collegiate approach involving anything up to half a dozen people.

There is nothing in the media to suggest that either LJ or KS have been appointed by the supposed new owners. In fact neither of them have said who the owners are and simply reffered to them as "the owners"

Takeover my arse.

Really wish Johnson and Speakman well. Hope they can bring some vision and fundamental change to the core of the club. Just need to see the new ownership structure now. Sadly for them the problem is that if we don’t get off to a flyer under Johnson, Speakman and Dreyfus etc there’s always going to be animosity towards Donald and Methven as long as they remain involved in any way, shape or form. They’ll not get the time others are afforded cos there’s so much hate directed to them two cretins. And that applies whether they are absent or not unfortunately. Even if they are just silent shareholders (which it appears one may not be). We really need a clean break from them altogether to make this a success in my opinion. Particularly after the way they’ve treated us and spoke about us - either as fans or Northerners etc. Once they’ve fucked off then most fans lingering doubts may disappear and the new structure can be given time to build.

Don’t think you can separate the two. Reality is we absolutely need both.
From what I'd read I had hopes the Cowley's could deliver both.
A team managed by Johnson has never finished above our current league position (ok at different levels, but in terms of results, PPG).
I just have an inkling from the appointment of Johnson that on-field results might be less important to the new owners than development and sale of youth.
