The kind of person who would fit a smaller plate, who acknowledges that it's harder to be spotted by speed cameras and dash cameras, hardly seems like the kind of person who is likely to own up if involved in an incident with another vehicle.
You're not fitting it for aesthetic purposes, you're fitting it to increase your chances of getting away with speeding or hitting another car, presumably whilst filtering.
Which offence is worse, speeding or a small reg plate? Isnt a reg plate harder to read on a speeding car?

Motorcycle figures should measure 64mm x 44mm with the exception of 1 and I. Cars should be 79mm x 50mm, imported used cars can legally use 64x44 figures.
When car drivers complain about "illegal" motorcycle plates it's usually because they don't know the law. 6x4 plates on motorcycles can be perfectly legal.

Up in Jockoland last week for 4 days, we stayed in Elgin near Aberdeen. Fantastic roads and we had mates who are locals to show us the roads. We never sped once. 
And all number plates were legal
