I’ll get pelters, but I think it’s nonsense

I’m a huge believer in the NHS. But I think it’s a disgrace the way it has been allowed to rot. Clapping changes nothing bar people thinking they’re making a difference.

Aye, proper ‘thoughts and prayers’ shite.

A big percentage of those clapping enabled the 10 years of short funding we’ve seen by ticking the blue box in their ballot paper.

No you dont have to pick a side. I was just observing that 17 million people voted Tory no more that 4 months ago. 17 million voted for the party has purposely crippled the NHS and even cheered when a pay rise was voted down in the commons for the very people now receiving the applause

Now nobody will admit to voting for them and clapping. As they know it makes them look like a complete tit

Half of my family and friends work in the NHS or wider public sector, I show my gratitude to them every election by refusing to vote Tory.
I'm not religious but I still celebrate Christmas does that make me look like a complete tit. (I didnt vote tory btw) just saying just because you believe in one thing doesn't mean you can't also participate in something that you don't normally.

I've never went to a ballot box and voted to end xmas. In fact I've never said a bad word about it

By there’s some miserable twats on here.

Don’t bother clapping them if you voted Labour because you’ve already supported them at the ballot box.
Don’t bother clapping them if you voted a Tory because you’re a hypocrite.

Looks like it down to Lib Dem’s, Greens and Kippers to show their appreciation then

I dont think anyone should not bother clapping, if that's what they want to do, crack on, it's brilliant

Clapping away to hide the unpalatable truth that the NHS is no longer fit for purpose.
I clapped the NHS for saving lives and there is nothing unpalatable about that you f***ing bellend.

People are clapping the NHS workers not the politics and funding.

Totally agree although the missus and the dog (she claims) both partake.

If you're not religious 8n what way do you actually celebrate Christmas?

Is it not more of a Thankyou to those in the nhs? Not an appraisal of its workings or failings. I’m not in England at the mo so not seeing it. My sister and step daughter are both nurses and appreciate it, so seems no harm. Don’t think it should be turned into a political issue. Just a thanks to those going the extra mile for everyone else.

Have to admit I thought the same, but a mixture of NHS staff on the news said how it was a real lift for colleagues at their hospitals.... All sharing where they live by WhatsApp etc. And said staff have a bounce on Fridays now. So good on the folk that do, but do agree with the other side of it.
