That tackle near the half way line was top class. The Rochdale player did not like it but was fair and took me back to the days of Joe Bolton.Luke was very good last night.

I’ll give you Maguire, none of the others are actually success stories IMO and I was actually a big Ross fan.

Willis - we signed one of the best defenders in L1.He’s still one of the best defenders in L1

Power - Multiple L1 Team of the Season selections and was twice Wigan player of the season. Looked like an average upper-L1 midfielder until last month

Dobson - signed a young player who was captain of Walsall, had a shaky start and has come into form over the last month.

McLaughlin - Scotland International, had already been in L1 tram of the season. Came in and continued his form from Hearts. Ross didn’t have much input into his development.
But they’ve been successful here and Ross brought them in ? And coached them ?

Was quality again yesterday some of his cross field passes and touches where excellent if he keeps improving I think he could be a decent championship player.
I think the championship is just a step to high for the lad..he may still improve tuo so who nahs

I agree.
Maybe the movement by our attacking players like Wyke hinder him?

He is still a very imp player to how our team perform
I agree - he is important. However, he will need to really work on his crossing and delivery if he wants to work up the ladder. I think, with Hume, he's a real confidence player.

exactly the type of player we should be building a squad with.

professional, hard working and improving all the time

They’ve been good signings, but Ross didn’t improve any of them apart from Maguire. Willis and McLaughlin just continued to play as well as they did the previous season.

In fact you could argue that until Parkinson turned our form around that Power and Dobson had been disappointments.

Very much reminds me of a Robbie Savage type player, he’s currently limited in his footballing ability, but his effort and work rate makes up for that and the result being a very effective footballer.

I’d like to see him grown and develop his footballing skills with us and see where it takes him.

I love the bloke man, so happy to be at a club like us, probably can’t believe he’s here still and seems to be loving every minute of it. Can’t wipe a smile off his face.

Lot to be said about this, we need a squad with these type of players, but if we move up the leagues we need to introduce skill and quality players, but with a good mix.

Good in games like that but in games against better teams he struggles imo. Always puts a shift in so is always a 6/10 which is what we want at this level.

He did really well to keep it in last night for our first goal too, was a cross field ball fired over his head and he kept it in with a header to Maguire who then crossed it for the goal.
