Tesla Motors...

Anyone on here got one?

Upgrading my car in a couple of months and really fancying the Model X? Had one for a test drive and wow, it was unreal. Head has been completely turned by it. Driving it was like playing a computer game
Have you had a look at the i pace from Jag
I asked for a quote for a 3 and an X from NHS leasing and they couldn't even return a quote for either. Depending how they develop think my next car will probably be full electric.
Model 3 performance are on the nhs fleet on special offer at the mo, saw it today. From 352 a month

The OP shouldn't bother with a tesla and go for a mcclaren or Aston Martin or better still for a Lamborghini Veneno or Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

Just need a few million that's all

Like to bet on it?
I take it that’s a no then @Les the Scientist ?

where do you get that they are unreliable from? There isn’t many loving parts and not much to go wrong on them, their reliability and safety ratings are superb.

if you do break down, you use the onboard system to summon assistance and they come and get you and take the car to the nearest service centre, all included in the deal.

nobody is actually buying them though. All just on the never never.

Best way. On some work schemes you can get a Tesla, I-Pace, E-Tron etc with insurance and servicing for less than £400 a month, you’d pay that for a bloody One Series!

This current gen of premium EVs blow away 95% of ICE cars on the road.

yeah cheers mate if you can. Test driving the ECQ on Sat. It’s got 400 bhp!!

does the car not need to be registered after 5th April to hit zero bik?

I’m not sure at all but I thought this was the case so looking to delay my purchase til then?

if it just drops after this time then I may take the plunge earlier

HM Treasury says that for cars first registered from April 6, 2020, most company car tax rates will be reduced by two percentage points.

That means for a pure electric vehicle with zero tailpipe emissions, company car drivers will be taxed at 0%, paying no BIK tax at all.

Furthermore, the zero percentage rate is also extended to company car drivers in pure electric vehicles registered prior to April 6, 2020, who were already looking forward to a much reduced rate of 2% for 2020/21.

The Model 3 does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, the I-Pace 4.5 and the E-Tron about 5.5, so in terms of pure acceleration, I reckon less than 1 in 20 cars on the road can go faster than any of them, probably less than 1 in 100 faster than the Tesla.

They’re all absolutely rammed with the latest gadgets and features, they’re quieter, cheaper to run, easier to maintain.

Obviously the range and the charge time is the massive drawback but the range will only improve and the charge time will only decrease.

This is the future of motoring.

Not the near future though.

I’m getting one in April, I’ll let you know what it’s like
Sort of agree. How will people without drives charge them?

That’s the huge issue really, those people have to rely on public chargers while they’re out and about or at work. Workplaces will lead the way in getting people over to EVs.

Our trust are now advising to put an order in 6-12 months before end of your current lease if you want a Tesla which is looking likely after having a test drive.
