A new breed of supporters...

Supporters don't want us to fail. The ones who are most upset at SAFC failing are the ones you are criticising for complaining.

The question i keep asking myself over the last couple of years has been this, just how bad does it have to get, just how dark does it have to be before people who haven't snapped do, i think of other clubs of our size and i wonder, would they stand for everything we have had to stand for in the last 5 years, the scandal's the relegations, and other things that have come and gone.

It has been getting even when we win people were calling for the Managers head. Although I see your point, you should also see that they are not going to sack a Manager they have just appointed. So you can give him a chance. Supporting your team through thin and thin.
The thing is even when we have won, with one or two exceptions, the team has never looked convoncing. Thevsame weaknesses from last season are still there. I am not surprised that we have gone from “getting by - but only just” to the present state where we are barely getting by. It was never going to be a big step to do that. Even the poorest teams know that with a bit of application they can beat us.

Complaining isn’t the issue though. Unreasonable expectations of waving a magic wand and fixing things instantly are the problem. As has been said on this thread , no one can be happy at this situation but realistically the things that are wrong with the club, ie current squad, recruitment set up, scouting, academy etc are easy to run down but can’t be fixed instantly. For a start, everyone knows the club doesn’t have money to throw at things and even if we did, financial rules don’t allow it. I really hope with the new investment, there’s a serious strategy and an identified aim. To get there, and to do it within the rules and in a way that will keep benefitting the club for years to come will take time. Some people will never be happy with that because they demand instant results

So have I shipmate, but I always believe in positivity. But to answer your question - dinnar.
What does posivity mean, making excuses for poor displays, saying it‘s ok to be shortof power, pace height, skill and guile if it wasn’t so broke, it wouldn’t need fixing. Positiity does nothing, you have to be realistic, then you can start to fix things.

Another goalkeeper, are they hiring you in or is it the Russians.

I think this board has a huge impact on the negativity surrounding the club.

The players on the pitch don’t help either mind

I think this board isn't as important as some people on here make out to be.

As I've said before, some shouldn't be allowed on the internet the way they go on with a matchday thread. Can only be thankful I don't sit next to themat a match.

they never go to games marra, so you should be ok...

No freedom of speech on here mate I got banned for rightly saying Pickford was shit and then for saying that Sunderland getting 8000 attendance s was poor mods:lol::lol:
It’s sad the way free speech is being suppressed, of course common decency and a modicum of sensibility has to be applied, but if someone cops a ban merely for expressing an opinion then we’ve reached a sad point in time.

Keyboard Warriors - although I use the term ‘supporters’ lightly.
I get why the doom and gloom going around as we are at our lowest ever ebb in our history
But what I don’t get is this new breed of so called supporters who seem to want us to fail
Parky was never my choice but I don’t care who is Manager so long as we get promoted
I don’t see any enjoyment in getting beat so we can get shot of another Manager
All I am reading is Parky was doomed to fail before he even Managed a single game
Parky is not going anywhere just now so get behind him and the team and you never know you might just enjoy a win
If you really enjoy getting beat so you can winge then try picking another team, there are plenty below us where you could enjoy losing even more often then we do

Just missing a good chorus marra or is it a hymn?

I just don’t take this place so seriously anymore. I’ll listen to the game, read a few threads, then get on with my day.

Instant results? This is our 2nd season in the third division. Looking a possibility it could be 3 years and more. Is it unreasonable to expect promotion?

Course it’s not unreasonable but my point is you can’t just get rid of the current squad, you can’t just bring in a ready made whole new team that’s fit for purpose. People wanted Ross gone rightly or wrongly but then people expect a new manager to come in and everything’s rosy. In one of my previous posts I said the time for a reset was the beginning of last season but recruitment obviously wasn’t up to scratch. No new manager can come in and fix 10+ years of bad management in a month. If you take today as a fresh start. It’ll take ages to put everything in place to have a successful and functioning club. Mistakes or bad management have put us where we are. There’s no instant fix to that as much as we’d all want there to be

Social media and this site definitely sets a tone. Just how it is in this era. The game has changed.

Been going since 1971 and now 48 years later we are shitter than we have ever been. Even when we were shit throughout this period we had hope and BELIEF. Many have lost the belief with the game of charades messrs SD and CM are playing.
Appointing PP was the straw that broke the camels back for quite a few.
If anybody can convince me he was/is the right appointment feel free to do so.
Dont think we are bottom of our current pit either but that's just a personal opinion.
Why do you think he was a bad choice, and who would have been a better ( realistic) one?

This shite about supporters wanting us to lose always comes up when we’re playing like shit.

Just because they had a different opinion to you doesn’t mean they actually want it to happen.
No one is suggesting that supporters cant have an opinion like. Football is a game of opinions but when those opinions become poisonous and incredibly negative it has a detrimental effect on everything. We are called supporters for a reason, we are supposed to support even in adversity.

Same at Newcastle, I’m sick of reading about how “fans” want us hammered every week just to say yep Bruce is a wanker.I never ever want us to lose any game but a certain section of our fan base seem to wallow in anything Bruce does wrong.Just now they are hating it, sad really.
Sorry to hijack.

Social media is horrible for every club when they get beat I would guess, slagging players off. Its getting worse though. Years ago u would just twist about it to ya mate down the pub. Its far to personal now imo. People posting stuff like get the fuck out my club Grigg on Twitter when he missed the Pena at oxford is pathetic. If the bloke sees stuff like that its clearly going to do nowt for his confidence. Surely every fan wants to help players perform better, and encouragement helps alot more than being a prick.
