I can relate to what they intend to happen marra but I certainly don’t relate to what they are actually doing. I could direct Safc football operations better than them in the hour between me getting home and me eating my dinner.

you know I think everyone agrees they have messed up the football side of the club. I don’t think getting rid of the manager was the fix, in fact I think it was spineless and everything that has happened to us in the last 10 years tells us that when the football operations strategy is wrong, changing managers achieves nothing.
Then you come on here tonight and guess what, it’s all about sack PP.
He’s now our only hope, that with some budget in the window he can shape this squad into a team. But why we should reasonably expect him to do that mid season is beyond me.
How? Have you ran a large football club? Do you know exactly what they're trying to do? I don't.
What I can see tanglibly however, is that the product ie the football has regressed markedly at senior and junior levels. So, whatever they're trying to do, isn't quite working, is it?

Correct

Correct

Which is precisely why people are aiming criticism their way. I fully agree that abuse is always out of order though.

You know things are bad when you need to beg for a loan to fix a lift and some speakers man. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ellis Short is bankrolling the players wages

Strange How any criticism of Donald gets deleted immediately

"Criticism"?

I doubt criticism would get deleted.

People going way over the top with aggressive or libelous comments probably would.

If it was just regular valid criticism it's probably been merged with other threads.

Edit: as this thread has.

I remember when Ashley use to drink with the fans, go in the away end and was one of the lads. These fuckers make him and Charlie boy look like Del Boy and Rodney to there Arthur Daly

Ellis Short came in mingling with fans in boozers and curry houses. He then became an absent owner, leaving the running of the club to people who didn't seem up to it, whilst the main product, the football got gradually worse. Good job we've seen the last of all that and have our club back.

Going back to the title of this thread, he f***ing well is. Twice the turnover of most the teams in this league, three times more than some. & he can't even

& the lesson we've learn't is trust no fucker who owns the club & comes bearing gifts of indian food or beer

Would like him to sell up and move on. This is WAY beyond his capabilities.

I think that’s completely wrong marra. The players are league one plodders recruited primarily as they were cheap and available. That isn’t their fault. The issue is the lack of thought at the club from the top down. Donald needs to know that his performance to date has been horrendous. He either needs to completely change his approach or to sell up and move on. Griefing a limited bunch of players for being limited players totally misses the point.

Problem is the fans are turning on the players now having been paragons of virtue.... it will only make it worse, they are not equipped to handle that kind of pressure. They will start hiding, heads will drop, no one will take responsibility, confidence will be shot.
Tonight was the most lack lustre, display I think I have seen in a very long time. I was shocked at the body language and lack of a ‘team’ both collectively and tactically. I felt they threw in the towel tonight.

Hang on marra. A pr guru said that. It was the pr thing to say. Knows more than us about football. Knows about how to back a team at Wembley. Doesn't say much about what is there to see on the pitch, where it counts. Knows little about 100 points.

From the outside looking in he's nothing but a small time chancer, he gambled on yourselves going up at first chance & making it more unbelievable it looks as if (correct me if I'm wrong) he used the parachute payments to do so. Just so he could make some £££ I'm sorry but if given the choice of owner of my club between him and Short, well Short wins hands down.

I agree with this. Some of the earlier posts are way over the top. His heart was in the right place but he thought he could run a massive club like a Conference team and has made massive mistakes on the football side. His recruitment and the recruitment of those he appointed has been abysmal.

See, if he wasn't so misleading about how he bought the club or how much he paid for it. If he wasn't so misleading about the 10 million that was taken from the clubs account and paid into Madrox and is/isn't going to be paid back. If he wasn't going on 'twitter breaks' everytime something came out/was going to come out about him, or something he had said which would show him in a bad light. If he wasnt so secretive about a ten million pound 'investment' he's spent 18 months bragging he's going to get (despite actually trying to sell) to fix a lift because we couldn't afford to fix it otherwise despite having 'the best finances in the football league'. If he wasn't getting a PR guru to now do his talking and telling total proven lies in the latest podcast, then him having his heart in the right place would be a little more believable.

He saw an opportunity to get a massive club for next to nothing, cut costs and sell at a profit but after 18 months of trying and failing to sell, people are starting to slowly realise and he's bailed.

As with the signings. Expecting miracles from free transfer shite and expecting dropped players elsewhere to suddenly find their magic.i don’t care what anyone says he saw Maja leaving as a chance to make a million quid thinking he could outsmart people. That move said it all for me.

It's a myth that you have to spend money to get out of this league though. It's fine doing it on the cheap... Plenty other clubs have done it and are continuing to do it.

The issue is the people he's entrusted to do the recruitment. They've been woefully inadequate and we now have a mediocre team that will struggle to go up this season. We had the perfect chance to reset and move forward in a really creative way. But we just look like we're in the process of f***ing it all up again.

I think the thing that is starting to anger most people is all of the fawning shit he came out with about how he couldn't turn down an opportunity to get involved with such a big football club etc etc etc.

People actually bought into this at first and, now that it appears to be nothing but empty rhetoric to get us onside, they are starting to get pissed off.

Part of there masterplan was obviously bouncing straight back, that hasn’t happened, it won’t happen this year. I really worry about the clubs future me, going to be a dark few year.
Part of? That was the whole plan.

It failed, there was never a plan B or a long term strategy.

As things currently stand, I’d be surprised if the club still exists ten years from now.

There's definite parallels like. The main difference being the league in which they decided to go down this road in...

A poor decision to appoint PP, fans should be allowed to be more involved in the structure of the club - we could have kept him right if he had let us have more of a say.

I would even pay for the privilege to give him sound advice if I really knew what I was talking about. Paying to give the current owner advice: It would weed out the idiots.

Absolutely spot on on every point. Its absolutely no coincidence that his popularity has nose dived since the revelation of that £10m. For a man who likes to address things immediately, he nor Methven have acknowledged that. Its dodgy as fuck aswell. £10m moved from club accounts to Madrox, then FFP putting £10m to Madrox also. So their company has £20m, and SAFC has no pot to piss in?

Give back the £10m. Adjust the asking price to reflect the 18 months of downgrading every aspect of the club and learn lessons from this failed gamble. Thats all thats left for SD to do.
