This lad is the biggest half arsed footballer I've ever seen put on the famous red and white stripes. He's an absolute disgrace to himself, his teammates, club & supporters.

His demeanour is shocking. Just looks like he's won the lottery coming here.

Doesn't seem to be any effort to defend, to get back in positions or to attack with any intend. There is no drive in him what so ever.

He needs a rocket up his arse & fast otherwise pedal him!
At one time stood with the ball near him and the oppo came in and took it away and he barely moved. Looked like he wasn't tuned in. Does a hypnosist come into the dressing room before kick off and tell them " Today you will all be shite again".

Recruiting players based on cost, availability, who they've played for and at what level seems to have been our only criteria. It's doomed to failure. A scouting network sounds a step in the right direction but I worry who we have running the show there.
It should have been a priority from day one. We're paying for not having a scouting system in place. It really does piss me off we've dicked around for nigh on 18 months without having any sort of system in place.

He was cheap, available & had higher level experience with Millwall, highly doubt we did our due diligence to see if his skill set would fit the way we needed to play this year, the lad has no pace, can’t cross a ball and can’t really defend that well. Horrible signing. I’d say same goes for De Bock too from his limited appearances. We have downgraded in both positions it’s a shambles from the recruitment team. Donald Love is getting really good reviews at Shrewsbury and looks better than McLaughlin for fuck sake, we’re talking about getting a good right back for league 1 it can hardly be rocket science.

The way we’ve neglected the loan market not taking young players from the likes of Chelsea is a piss take too.
That Jake Clarke salter was ace. You want more like him?
Or are you thinking of Ruben sammut?

We have weakened the scouting and recruitment, put a load of faith in 2 guys to bring in a boat load of players. The net result being a weakened team on the pitch and dire results. This team can't get results in league 1, if we get promoted the process will start again. I really despair, I'm still baffled as to why the club was sold to owners with no money

He treats the ball like it’s a hot potato. He looks so uncomfortable on the ball that he just wants to get rid of it asap.
His defending is very weak and I can’t see any reason why we signed him

This. We really should have been too two without too much problem last year with the likes of McGeady, Cattermole and Oviedo if we'd had any sort of operation in place that was fit for purpose to bring in the correct players.
Sadly, it seems our crack team played pin the tail on the Donkey with a list of available players.

I’ve paid a lot of attention to McLaughlin since he came in and for the life of me I cannot fathom what anyone saw in him that made him seem like a good player to bring into the club.

You’d think as a fullback ideally he’d be a good solid defender and good going forward.

He’s not.

As a fallback maybe you could accept one of either attributes- nope.

Basically he gets tortured by any decent winger, can’t win much in the air and is weak in the tackle.

Going forward he gets a nosebleed once he crossed the halfway line and his shooting and crossing ability is woeful.

Why oh why did we sign him?
Let’s face it, no one watched him play before we signed him. He was a free agent willing to sign from a championship club and that was enough for the powers that be to snap him up.

It's got to be this. Surely, unless he was a completely different player for Millwall, no-one could have seen what he does and thought "he's exactly what we need"?

that ONein is still the best right back in the club says it all really.
he’s not good enough quality thats for sure.
all we can do is try and get best out of him for the time he’s here.
It’s easy to say pedal but transfer windows and contracts limit the opportunity.
Only serves to emphasise that the recruitment cuts where the wrong ones.

He’s on You Tube playing in a play off final forget who for. Anyway he’s as anonymous and plays exactly the same as he does for us. So it wasn’t difficult to check him out

I can't believe a club needing a full rebuild on the playing side would even contemplate cutting the recruitment/scouting side of things. How on earth did they expect to get value for money without it?
