I've been ambivalent at times on the owners, I've praised them for getting the budget under control, supported them for some contentious decisions, but been critical of Ross, their support of him, the scouting, the gamble on Grigg and the lack of a plan B for this season.

But this?
If the money went to another club we'd be talking about them going to 'buy the league the lucky bastards'.

I mean, the season isn't over, but how many times can you type out "around eight figures for a third division club to improve playing staff, scouting and academy" and then post it on a thread that out numbers it ten to one with "but the podcast! / I've been swindled by the club" shite?!
How
Ya fighting a losing battle mate ,let them wallow in misery.

It’s brilliant the involved mate i just believe we need someone better than Donald and co to take us forward and hopefully in time that’s the case as that would be the sensible thing to do with the track record they have, and not to be funny now but are you been sensible it’s been said around 8 figures and people keep saying it’s 10mil
Now your telling us £20mil or do you know something others don’t?
As owners they can sort off field issues which hopefully longer term sorts on the pitch issues. Of course everyone wanted promotion last season and to have made a better start this season.

However, off the pitch the club doesnt look in bad shape and by hook or by crook Mr Donald and Mr Methven have got the Dell lads to invest. Lets celebrate the good news eh?

A good win on saturday will really get the ball rolling.

Life as a SAFC fan hasnt been good the last few years...today we may just may have turned a big corner in the history of our club. Lets get behind the Club and see where it takes us.

The magedia are hating this...there will be a lot of negativitiy and stirring...lets not add to it.

Good old Charlie mentions coton setting up the new scouting so we might aswell set fire to that cash.
well you people care about the CVs of the people who do the jonb-otr you pretend to when you talk about richard hill's CV-and citins is just about fine for the job..the people who came before him were much much moworse thamn he..and corrupt as well..so he is an improvemmnt..even of he is no good..while hill is an improvemtn on the disaste r ellis short appointed to the role-its that diastrous appointment that srtil;l holds safc back..

Gerrin 15 - 4 ! 😂

the point being that 'takeover' was at that time still the prominent word used for whatever was going on and even SD used it, maybe unintentionally. at the time i felt it was fairly significant. hopefully today is just the start of their investment with us and leads onto bigger and better things.
deals like this are fluid..they might have come thinking takoebver then notces d the global economy ging up the shitter so thought..lets doa less risky thing..events change things..

Fingers crossed 🤞

It isn’t necessarily moaning man. Is it a bad thing for people to want to know what’s going on? Is it bad to ask or query the financial arrangements and future ownership? Every other club’s fans in the country would ask these questions. If FPP were to takeover, they’d be the fifth set off owners we’ve had in the 21st century. Each set of owners have had their pros but all have certainly had their cons. And given where we’ve ended up, currently sitting tentatively in the third division, I think it’s about time our supporters started asking more and more questions about the people who are running the show. It’s better to do that than to treat every one who comes in as a white knight who will save the club and restore former glories and then demand their removal when things go tits up.

That doesn’t mean any owner should get abuse in public, online or wherever. That is wrong. But just because someone shows financial interest in our club it doesn’t mean that everyone should automatically kowtow to owners or not scrutinise their actions. I’ve said it before, but the relationship between club supporters and owners should be similar to that of a dog and a lamppost. We should support the club, it’s heritage and it’s future, not the temporary custodians. If the owners do well and deliver, praise them to the hilt. I know I certainly will.
its legimitmate to question,.did our fans question when ellis short did much the same thing?
whatever the reasons, Nixon was at least partially correct that the takeover / investment deal as it had been set up in the summer, was off.

He may not have got all the detail correct, but he got the overall gist.
he got the fact the original deal was off correct..but he missed the slightly important detail that a new deal was on..

the yanks are investors who want a few quid profit..SD has done an unbelievable job in terms of the financial side of safc..thats what investors primarily care about,..because investors dfo to for a profit you see..

Good lad and well said.
Back to back 5-0 home wins.

Ok Charlie but I’m not sure that’s how things work, it can’t just increase in value over time if it has become worse over time.
but financially it has become better over toime..and on the ptchw e are in the same divison..so not worse..your linking the bvalue of the club to short term performance on the pitch and thats wrong..
I don’t know mate, but this is Methven, I doubt he’d chuck something out if it wasn’t going to benefit him
yep he bought a business for a profit..same as every other owner...personal gain is the motivation..
3190m..that substantial enough for you?
by the way the story is eight figures..so minimum
